I've been on the grind lately and while i've not really looked into it, i have been curious if people have been able to solo these yet?

i remember iod with the three bosses in the wild and learning to solo them at 30s for the black pearls and dino weapons for sent xp and was just curious if i should even try here

The dragon I can do on several of my characters. The worm only 1 of my characters at cap can solo; the rest just get clapped. (technically I also did once on my warlock too, but it was over 20 minutes to kill the worm which might as well be useless)

I kited the worm around a few days into the expansion for what seemed to be quite a long time, on a ranged character build for speed.

It really depends on the build, but I figure Purple named is generally reserved for raid bosses so the expectation is to bring a group. If your build is particularly capable then you'll be spending slightly more time trying to get them to show up than in the fight itself. If you are wanting a particular item you do not want to be spending any more time than you have to since you'll likely be killing them a lot.

it was more just curious if people had been able to solo them like the iod purple nameds.

Definitely soloable, just yegora hurts a lot and likes to burrow if you are not in melee range. They do take quite a bit longer to kill than the IoD purples.

I'm a level 34 Paladin with a THF (Attuned Bone Melt Greatsword), and I can solo it. It takes me just under 10 minutes to take it down, so I don't really like doing it.

I find taking down the worm easier than the dragon.
It's a simple fight where you just step back when the AoE marker appears.

For farming purposes i'd certainly plan it around having a few other people with you and trying to get it ransacked.
You'll most likely go insane if you need to solo those about 300 times at 10+ minutes each.

The IOD glabrezu takes me ~30 seconds. This is my go-to dps check for builds, as it has sufficient hit points to average out dps but not so many that it's tedious, is always there, and drops useful stuff anyway.

...but the worm takes ~2:30-3:00 per run solo. Yes, I've timed that because I'm a huge nerd. I'm not min/maxed for DPS but this is fairly past lived/geared up though.

Keep in mind dungeon scaling is VERY much a thing here, it had 2.8m-3m hp solo but has closer to about 4.5-5m with a group of 6. This WILL change if you are soloing and someone steps in, by the way, so if using bots to loot step them in after I guess.

It'll also hit MUCH, MUCH harder with a group, solo I can afk and read/work then just push myself back into combat when I hear myself not hitting, just standing in the circles and relying on consecrate. 2-3 people I can't do that, I have to hit renew every so often, and 4-5 people I get out of the circles. Full party, they'll probably kill most anyone not specced to tank.

If anyone is on Cannith feel free to hit me up for some worm slaying, MD is a tough grind and good company makes it go faster.

What, me worry?
so, no spoilers here, but the wurm can be soloed on first life ranged characters & I'm sure the game designers put this in there, b/c it's just kinda neat to discover and kinda makes sense in the lore, but I encourage you all to look for tactical advantages. :)

it's such a neat fight, 5-stars.
