SOME good news RE: Symphony of the Fey equipment

If an item can be upgraded, like Saltmarsh gear, the upgraded item will NOT have the Symphony of the Fey border/text. That's not going to help everything, especially raid gear, but it can get rid of some of the mess.

No way they don't remove the borders themselves, right?
Well, seeing as it definitely is possible to put a new border on items, it could be reworked a bit to indicate other things, like "this item has augment slots".

That would save so much tedium pawing through items. Would be even nicer if I could auto-mark any item without an augment slot as vendor trash (and all RNG armor and shields).

We went over this in the past with Tonquin/Lynnabel/etc. We were gonna get gray mechanical for cannith crafted, etc. Maybe pips around the rectangle for slots, idk. A lot of dreams. Then they got sucked into the corporate world just a bit farther, just past the too far sign, and became another better business bureau hating ssg employee. (It's like a cult, really! They all hate it, not one of them has a different opinion. Like some weird dar-qat SSG indoctrination center.)

Now we never got those border changes. And Tonq is gone. And so are all those dreams and more.

Tolero said on today's Fridays at Four that the graphic and description indicators on Symphony of the Fey event can be completely scrubbed. The team is basically wanting to hear from players to what level, IE a complete scrub or maybe just the removal of the border while keeping the music note or the Symphony of the Fey tag in the item description.

If this is the case then I'll take the full scrub.

My vote is make an option at the event vendors to scrub your items
One by one? No, thank you!

Scrub it from them all in an one click swoop. We already have to put a lot of time and patience on some boring no questing stuff in this game (i.e TR process; bank management; crafting; clicking 897854510 times to go to a quest - yes Red Tom, I accept, just shut the hell up).

When someone invites you to dinner, do you respond, "by tunneling through the earth, no way! Let's drive instead."

- but in all seriousness, ideally there would be 3 options: scrub item, scrub all items on this character, and scrub all items on this account, and realistically I do think you are correct and we would unfortunately only get the "one by one" if we do get any personal decision.

That would be marvelous!

I'm all in for player agency to choose, but let's be down to earth here, the boarders already served their purpose - identify/flag the itens to be used by the winter lute (a.k.a. Hardcore lite) runners. The event is over, the boards lost their function, even if next year the event returns, new itens will needed to be dropped, now is an aesthetic luxury for those that want mementos from the event.

There is no function or cosmetic difference from the original itens.

Just do any of the two already! Doesn't matter which one. The easiest for the devs. The boarders are important as the communicate information. The notes can be left or scrubbed.

No player choice, no half measures. Devs choose one or the other based on ease and reliability of implementation and do it (guessing after the bug is fixed).

Cheers

I find the border unique and makes the gear piece feel special. Long after the event and looking at the fey border, it's gunna remind me of the fun event and id be willing to bet, item collectors years later (after these items stop dropping) will hunt down unbound items as "foil" versions of gear pieces as collectables and a piece of game history

I am cautious about saying "completely scrubbed". Corrupt-a-wish...this could mean no border at all.

What I hope is that the fey border is removed and the items are automatically given the border they would have had if the fey event had never happened. So random loot gets the random loot border, named items get the border they should have...raid items get their proper border, etc.
