Some of you first lifers have a lot of nerve.

I cant understand why people on their first life- no gear, few reaper points- think they can join a R10 group. Sure, some of us can carry you, but really, you cant do any dmg, you die in one swipe from trash....

OK so Im taking heat for this post. Sorry.... I guess it was a little mean. I really wasnt trying to be, I was half joking. I get it, theres probabyl not any other LFMs up. Also, sure, some classes can survive and contribute. I was being sassy, Im not an elitest.

Uh oh. Someone's elitism is leaking again.

TBF, would you join if you were the 1st lifer?

You wouldn't send a tell or ask if it's ok, knowing that you'd not contribute? You'd just roll on in expecting to be carried and rxp handed on a platter?
(tanks and healers exception of course)

I was one of the first lifers that adventurered with you and stood in back. Not only did I not die, but I healed you, did a few DPS points on trash, did about 30k on the end boss, and raised you thrice while you rushed in thinking you were all that on R10. Maybe a little less elitest on your part and realizing not everyone is at your level and the game is played by all people with the object is too enjoy and overcome challenges. Not to serve your ego and make comments against players who you feel cannot serve you in your playstyle.

I actually left after the instance was finished, thanking everyone as you were making rude comments towards players, despite the folks with less than 1k HP not dying a single bit against your three deaths of you rushing into combat trying to draw large groups to get the instance done quickly.

I can appreciate your frustration if you are trying to rush through R10 content but these sort of comments are not needed and only show the aggressive gamer you are and I would think most folks not wanted to group with you. A simple description in your R10 LFM of 'over 1k HP please, or 20 reaper minimum please, or please be geared' would have been sufficient in the LFM description to know you did not want newer characters.

ROFL so the OP put up an R10 LFM, without any notes for the expectations he clearly had in mind?

I guess if he was self aware enough to ask "AITA" with his original post, we could all say "YTA".

Are you asking if people would do that, or you asking if people should do that?

I've got an R10 capable first lifer toon, so yes, I would, I do, and it does contribute. It might not solo the entire quest but it does contribute and it doesn't die any more than others in the group.

It's also not just me. There's this: https://forums.ddo.com/index.php?threads/lava-divers-presents-first-life-raid-push-challenge.10267/

For reference, this is with nothing but ship buffs while standing in a public area:

This toon also isn't completely min/max'd.

It was setup before the recent monk pass and is still missing a few pieces of gear, filigree, etc. This is also setup with Vecna + IoD, not MD because I'm not wasting the time it would take to farm up a full set of MD gear + augs.

If I were rolling a new one now, it'd be a little different and better due to the changes in the monk trees.

Because they are allowed to and have absolutely no idea they are doing anything wrong.
They are not arrogant, they are just new and inexperienced.
Maybe instead of going after the clueless new folks (whom this game desperately needs),
direct some polite requests for the developers to add filters group leaders can use to limit whom can join your group.
Just saying.

I agree with you when you're twinked & I have similar toons, however in the context of the OP, your example isn't what they're refering to.

Man I hope this isn't a Thrane report. Been nothing but chill so far. Not saying I'm vouching for effectively piking someone else's LFM, but you gotta be a gracious host. Not feeling it, say that. "Hey I need better support, good luck" and post a new LFM.

That way when we need to unite at the market bridge to bring change to this world, we all feel invited. We won't defeat lag without first lifers!

I'm aware that's not what the OP was ranting about. Thus, my response to him was different than my response to you.

And really, as others have pointed out, if he doesn't want to group with newbies, he should post the LFM accordingly.

One other thing I'd point out is that the toon in my screenshots was a HCL toon that I ran 1-34. The only twinking it had was the filigree and maybe friends and guildies I was grouped with passing it some spare loot when we were running our R10s.

Most of the people I know will happily pass first lifers gear, so it's not that different.

Puggin' ain't easy.

If you put the LFM at 20-34 then you get what you get, and that's 100% on you. If you can't carry a group through r10 then don't lfm for that level of characters, there's no way they had under 1k hp at cap so that's your fault buddy. Doesn't sound like you conducted yourself in a classy way.
