I cant understand why people on their first life- no gear, few reaper points- think they can join a R10 group. Sure, some of us can carry you, but really, you cant do any dmg, you die in one swipe from trash....

I am so happy this came up. I have a first lifer FVS that was in an R10 RL group the other day. I was hitting trash hard with light spells. Granted I had gear from other toons and still died 1 swipe sometimes but I did contribute and was super happy with my build when I was the one rez'ing folks at the dragons end of invitation..

Seeing all the negative comments, you should rather return to flaming SSG, OP. You cannot say anything negative about anything else it seems.

I would personally not join R10 as first lifer (read too weak character) and I had not been joining R10s unless I was able to solo R3-4s. But at the same time, I don't mind carrying people in high reaper (I can now in solo R6-8 quite comfortably). I rather see a soulstone that tries than a piker or a zerger that finishes before all are in.

Some of us are used to being in sarlona where the average solo r10 enjoyer opened publics for free rxp.

They want to get their RXP up, get completions on the quests they struggle with, and get all that cool gear you need to handle Reaper and raids and all that jazz.

That's why an R10 LFM is hella tempting for people who normally struggle with doing R1 alone. I would personally never host an LFM unless I'm A) pretty confident I can carry players who join, and B) willing to help and support newbies.

The game is what you make it.

If want to be uber...work towards that (but don't hold others to that extreme). If you want to stop and smell the flowers...do that (but let others know that if you post an LFM). If you want to run all optionals...let others know and then do that.

If they don't abide with what you posted in your LFM...kick them out as soon as you can.

The only thing stopping you from having fun is usually you.

It's just a FREAKIN GAME!!! Have fun or play something else (or add constructive criticism, instead of 'this sucks', 'the devs should all be fired', 'they are just money-grabbers', etc...).

For context...
Player since 9/2009. I have two characters I play regularly/daily and several alts that may get played once a year or so.

My "main" with 3x every past life (except dhampir) and 95 RAP.
My "main alt" with 3x caster lives, heroic completionist, 13 racial points and 72 RAP.

Both are well-geared. Not perfectly ideally geared with all the raid gear and fancy augments but have all the bases covered.

I see public LFMs up often for R10 content and ignore them whole heartedly.

Even though I could meaningfully contribute.
Even though I know strategies and tactics.
Even with a solid build and knowledge of game mechanics.

I am perfectly content to solo R1-R4 balancing speed, fun and challenge.

Public LFM is not the place for your random R10 pick up groups. It's almost laughable seeing lvl 20-34 range for R10 MD or any content for that matter. Like what are you even thinking?

Who actually believes this is a good idea?

IF you can solo zerg R10 and put up an LFM for 20-34 you are looking for attention not a group to ACTUALLY LEAD.

Some time ago, when I was first dipping my toe into R10 legendary quests our tank WAS the first lifer, and to be honest he made me look like I was the first lifer, lol. I got so used to levelling in DDO I'd forgotten the obvious things like "Don't stand in front of the mobs in the actually difficult content"

Also, let's not forget the group hijackers who join your r4, enter on r8, invite their friends who enter on r10, and then tell the original members their defense is too low for r10.

For every clueless first lifer joining an r10, there are 2 lazy inquis who want something between them and the mobs so they don't have to kite.

On the flip side how many elitist players join some new players' group and because they have twice the hps don't bother killing the mobs, champs and reapers THEY agroed.. they run past just to get quick completion while leaving the rest of the party for dead?
I've seen players play like that every single day on the new servers.

You can make your own group without lfm and can have conrtoll over who you playing with. Same thing with LFM: you can make your own and controll who you playing with.
If you aren't happy with open groups make your own with your rules.
Simple as it is.
