Sook's Saga Scroll - A Parchment That Remembers

Ever hit that point in a TR life where you’re staring at a saga NPC thinking:

“Wait… did I already First Time Reaper this quest?”

Yeah. Same.

So I built "Sook’s Saga Scroll".

It’s a simple offline tracker for DDO that keeps track of:
-- Saga progress across all your characters
-- For QoL I included the level 20 epic quests I always run when on a TR train
-- Also includes non-saga legendary since I run them for First Time Reaper
-- Basically tracks which quests you’ve completed for saga tracking
-- Which quests got their First Time Reaper bonus this life
-- Which sagas already have rewards banked

The big thing is Reaper tracking actually survives normal saga resets, just like in game. Your First Time Reaper marks stay tied to the life until you True Reincarnate.

You can also add your own notes, reminders, trap warnings, puzzle shortcuts, or “this quest is cursed and I refuse to discuss it” comments directly into the tracker.

No install.
No login.
No launcher.

Just click the link and start tracking.

The data saves locally in your browser storage. Nothing fancy. If you clear your browser cache, you wipe the data. So export your backup first. I literally gave you a button for it.

Mostly built because my own TR brain was turning into kobold soup trying to track hundreds of quests across multiple lives and characters.

If it helps somebody else survive the reincarnation treadmill, even better.

I think it's a little confusing to have some of the themes have class names and other have generic category/theme names. That's not really a design issue or anything, I just didn't connect the theme with the dropdown because I saw a class in there and was a bit perplexed for a moment. When I read the post (I am guilty of skimming many things) it made sense, but it did stunlock me for a good couple seconds (though the late hour might contribute to that too).

A lot of people run sagas for farming with the use of free VIP skips, that's probably not something you *need* to account for but it would be something that someone planning sagas might want to have in their planning or to share with someone else- for example, Times Long Past is a common skip from MD, so I might want to have a box where I can say "This is my dedicated skip" when I claim a reward so I can keep it marked if, say, I plan on running multiple epic lives and repeating the legendary sagas or something. It's obviously a bit of a stretch, it's not the most "important" feature. As an example, you might have edge cases (though I suspect it's pretty rare) where Eveningstar sagas get weird with interaction since a lot of them have overlap, so you could in theory skip a quest for one saga but run it for a different one. Since quest status is tracked across multiple different epic sagas, which is great for the "normal" use case, manually selecting/unselecting those quests selects it for other sagas too- having a "skip as VIP" checkbox could let it track without flagging the others.

I didn't, at a glance, see anything wrong with the information on most of the sagas themselves (I didn't click into the imported descriptions or check every saga, just compared the quest lists of a spot sample with the Version 0.439 human memory bank that I can guarantee has a few bugs) but the End of Eberron saga is missing most of its quests.

Two QoL changes I would suggest:
1. Include the level of the specific quest next to the quest. It's only relevant for a handful of sagas like heroic Ravenloft/Cogs and epic Eveningstar, but in those cases that could be relevant for newer players who don't have the quest levels memorized to know the optimal timing/order in the broader context of leveling. I doubt most people would really use that often but it's probably relatively low effort to implement I hope.
2. Add a button that doesn't do a full wipe of the data, but does reset all unclaimed sagas for when you TR a character. If I have multiple characters I'm tracking, and one of them TRs, I wouldn't want to wipe the sheet since it would be accurate for the other characters. I *could* delete and recreate the character's list, but that might not immediately click. (And you could have it be a "I TR'ed button and it pops up confetti or something, IDK, I'm spitballing a bit, it just seems more "polished" than the best way to do it as is being to delete the character and add them back.)

Posted a new build with some cool features. I zergged through 20-30 this weekend and loved it. I added some things to keep the screen tidy, now when you click some form of clompletion on a quest along the way, it tucks it away in a nested COMPLETE folder.... but if you miss clicked you can go in there and make a quest active again.


Super simple.

Haven't had a chance to try this out in game yet, but a couple more suggestions that would be useful to me...

1) A filter for All Saga Only.

I play in a static group and only need this to keep track of which Saga's have been completed as we usually turn these in at the end for Guild Renown. Being able to filter the other quests which we only run if we feel like changing things up would reduce clutter on the screen. Alternatively, make it so that you can toggle multiple filters to display and hide things as required rather than create new bespoke filters each time.

2) An option to turn off LFMs displayed in the quest tracker.

Again, this is just extra noise and on the screen as I have a static group, and extra data calls. I can see it being useful for a lot of players, but not everyone needs this active.

Either way, this looks like it will be a useful plug in for me so thankyou for making the effort to create and share it
