SPECIAL EVENT: 64-bit stress test with the Devs

Tolero

DDO Producer
Come one and all! The DDO Game Developers will be on the new 64-bit server Cormyr on Monday, September 30th, between 7pm - 10pm eastern to chat with players and spawn creatures as we measure how good the new 64-bit server handles player activity. Here's everything you'll need to know to participate in the special stress test event!

What is the 64-bit Cormyr server and who can try it?

Cormyr will be a VIP only server, but for Previews and Stress tests the Cormyr server will be open to Free, Premium, and VIP players to allow us to gather data on our 64-bit technology and hardware.

How To Access Cormyr:

To access Cormyr, use the Lamannia game launcher and your live game login credentials. Cormyr will appear as one of the available servers in the list to choose. Cormyr will be open to Free, Premium, and VIP players for the Special Preview.

Where To Find The Devs on Cormyr:

The DDO game Developers will be in Smuggler's Rest between 7pm and 10pm eastern on Monday 9/30. Speak with Sailor Calatin on the docks in the Harbor. Inside of Smuggler's Rest, Crystal Cove will also be active during this Stress test.

Developers will be spawning dangerous creatures in Smuggler's Rest in addition to the normal pirates, so bring your best builds to try and beat them!

What Characters To Play:

We encourage players to copy their favorite character from the live game worlds onto Cormyr using Character Copy, which will be available to players starting at 11am on Monday, September 30th. The Test Dojo will also be available for this preview. We especially encourage Raiders to attend, and to even try to raid on Cormyr.

What To Play on Cormyr:

Play any quests or raids that you know very well. But you can also play the new Myth Drannor raid, which will be available in the Test Dojo.

Special Instructions For Feedback & Bug Reporting
  • IMPORTANT: Use Ctrl-F to activate your Framerate counter on the right hand side of your screen. If you are experiencing lag, note whether or not your Framerate has decreased, which can indicate Client side lag.
  • Include the word "Cormyr" in your bug reports to help us distinguish them from regular Lamannia feedback.
  • We are particularly interested in any unusual or disruptive gameplay behavior that happens to you on Cormyr that doesn't happen to you when you play that same quest on Live or on Lamannia. Please let us know:
    • What the quest was
    • What your character's name was that it happened to
    • What the /loc was where it happened (include the whole loc including the server number)
    • A description of what happened vs what you expected to happen
Thanks for joining us for this Special Event! Cormyr also features an event called Lanterns in the Mists, which will get its own preview in the coming weeks. We'll have more information about this server-specific event in future preview threads!

I definitely plan on testing out some quests where massive mobs of spawning enemies are all over the place. Thinking something like red alerting TOEE, or certain instances in dungeons where a big pack spawns and there is usually a momentary freeze while the server loads all the NPC's in.

That and some quests with jumping puzzles such as:
- The Newcomers
- The Archons' Trial

Other than that, definitely going to see if I can assist in bogging down the raids if possible

Cant' wait to test it out!

It would be very helpful to clearly explain the exact steps to character copy; when I looked at this option it appeared as a last step in the transfer wizard bit as an obvious option on the starter screen or on the log in window. This could confuse players who have never copied a character before and who do not want to “transfer” to a test. Thank you!
