Spell Penetration?

You only need spell penetration if the baddie has spell resistance. Not sure about the context from your post. Are you not using a Resistance item and only have spell resistance?

That's probably the case. I'm not sure how a mammoth would go about equipping itself with the proper resistance gear.
I suspect "Suggested Content" falls under either a Charm or Command-type spell and would thus utilize a Will save. Assuming the mammoth had a low spell resistance, which I was able to overcome, they would then have to make a save check or be redirected to watching my dinky video.

What about crafting a trinket?
You can by them from the DDO store, but I pulled this one from some event in the past. I got all excited when Night Revels launched. I ran off into the party without a WIS and Resistance item. I finally found a use for that trinket gathering dust in my Shared Bank woot woot!

My 3 OG toons have, like, 4 trinkets.. well, had, I did learn what to do with them. Don't remember how I got them because (it was so long ago and) it's only important that I have them! And yes, all craftable.

I looked at the blue augments for Resistance, but I didn't have an open green or blue slot. The spell pen. augments are topazes. WIS can go into any slot, since it's a diamond.
I really wanted to use the Golem Heart, so I re-crafted the gloves for spell pen. and got some heal amp. into the mix.

The gems I found from Randall (who plays the field, shall we say) were sapphire, Trip +12, and the topaz was Melee +8 
Took 6k Mysterious Remnants but still trying to un-nerf (my dumb mistakes w/ Fred) my epi-Paly. Those 2 gems made me happier.
*eta: Spell pen is craftable so I would go that route vs. augments.

Since I'm farming out that way for Night Revels, I should run Epic Delara's and get one too!

Maybe I did pull the trinket from Devil Assault? I should have looked closer before crafting upon it and raising the level to 28.
I can always re-craft over the trinket. All the gear you see in the screenies is crafted except for those 4 named items, plus quiver. I'm running a Master's Gift in that Epic Golden Guile at the moment. I've got Blurry on the armor.

The trinkets I have are BtC - I think they dropped in the obsolete Festival of Good Cheer (Risia Ice Games.)

Did you already use your free feat swap from completing Hall of the Mark?
I still have a few lesser hearts I'm saving in case I need to respec feats that DDO gave us for free over the years.
I'm lazy and will use a Flawless Siberys Dragonshard if I have one handy and only need to fix 1 feat.

I mistakenly dropped SWF from my paly but there are multiple tiers and you cannot do/undo them all without $%&@#g up your character.. 'specially at 20. Fred's a jerk in that you really cannot undo/redo every feat, only selected feats. Fred's a junkie - short-term memory impaired.

Yeah, I created an awesome trinket for my L19 OG (with the help of my 250+ crafter) I would show y'all if the fancy forums would host images, or I could be arsed to post it externally and paste.
One of these days my crafter will get close to 400 (only to have SSG raise the crafting level)

protection from evil -
Creates a magical barrier that wards a target from attacks by Evil creatures. It grants a +2 deflection bonus to Armor Class, and a +2 resistance bonus to saves versus attacks from Evil creatures.
The target is also warded from Evil magical controls and compulsions, providing complete immunity to spells of the type: Dominate Person/Monster, Command and Greater Command regardless of the caster's alignment.
