SSG: Please confirm if there will be Rare Loot Mechanic for "The Chill of Ravenloft"

I disagree with this a bit.

Yes, the extra shared storage and character slots was a good move on SSG's part. I'm certainly not complaining about it. However, let's not give them more credit than they deserve. This was motivated by the upcoming server migrations and had nothing to do with the Chill expansion and it's loot rarities.

If we really consider why SSG would give the free storage and character slots, one could argue that SSG almost *had* to do something like this to avoid further complaints and customer retention issues from the forced server migrations.

After all, max character slots and shared storage has been a longstanding concern with the community. It suddenly becomes an even larger concern when forcing players to consolidate toons and storage from 8 current servers down to 4.

The only reason it is even a concern in the first place is because SSG has intentionally created an artificial scarcity of slots and storage for many years. So while it was a good move on their part, I'm sure it wasn't completely altruistic.
I haven't said that shared slots are related to Chill. I've said that for me, personally, a gesture of goodwill like that has made me much less salty about them and I view them much more favorably. That's my personal feeling, and I don't expect anyone to agree. Everyone has their own feelings.

I haven't bought Chill yet. I'm waiting to see all the details of the xpack, including the rare loot. If I'm convinced, I'll buy it and probably the Ultimate. I usually buy the Ultimate. If I don't like what I see, I'll skip the Ultimate and reconsider the Basic or not buy anything at all. But the gesture they've made has made *me* more open to the idea of buying it, because up until now, my desire to do so was practically nonexistent.

As long as the droprates are within reason, this should be fine and SSG can build up a LOT of goodwill from the players.

But we will see.

I'm wary of any bait-n-switch tactics.

People are not coming to a 20 year old MMORPG 'every day'.
Saying otherwise doesn't imply anything good about your arguments here.
Amazing, DDO can almost drink. Can already join the military. And perform in adult films. Heck it can even be governor of California!

Tolero:
There will additionally be rare items to hunt for, which will provide fewer static effects but increased flexibility in the form of more Lamordia-specific Augment Slots. The Lamordia Augments come from crafting them, similar to Dino Bone augments. We're tuning the drop rates of those to be more generous than the recent updates' rares have been. Myth Drannor was too rare, we adjusted it during update 71.2, increasing rates and also being mindful of whether a rare drop was gated behind the rarity of the encounter it was attached to. With Chill of Ravenloft, we're increasing the rare drop rates from what they were in update 71.2.

Since DDO Producer, Tolero, has confirmed that the crafting system will be ready for preview soon, it is basically 99.99% set in stone, they will not change.

And the Rare Items are here to stay, drop rate will still be very very low, same as Myth Drannor update 71.2; not impossible to get, but close to impossible without re-rolling.

There are only a few things, as player, we can do,
1. Petition to have the drop rate increase to like Vecna, IoD, and Sharn. No Myth Drannor drop rate
2. Don't buy the Xpack yet, wait until other players who have pre-ordered it and report their experience (maybe good or frustrating)
3. Even if you were to buy the Xpack, consider just buying the least expensive instead.
4. Just wait till the xpack available with points purchase, or better yet, wait till points purchase with discounts
