Hello everyone, happy release day for Myth Drannor! I've got a topic for discussion during today's downtime:

We're working on the Raid Loot for a raid that's coming out a little down the line, and would like some insight into what effects players would like to see on that loot. Here's what we're looking at:

Unchangeable Parts:
  • There will be around 20 named items in this Raid's loot table.
  • The items will be Minimum Level 33.
  • There can potentially be an upgrade system (to the named items in the raid, Myth Drannor quest loot, or both)
  • There can not be an extensive build-your-own crafting system (like Dino Bone crafting)
  • Sun and Moon Augment Slots can only exist on the slots they exist on in Myth Drannor quest loot
  • There is new, unique art for the following item types:
    • Rapier
    • Shortsword
    • Shuriken
    • Kukri
    • Longbow
    • Scimitar
    • Falchion
    • Orb
    • Quarterstaff
    • Throwing Dagger
    • Kama
    • Large Shield
      • This means we are aiming to make these item types for this Raid - Feedback on these item types is especially important
      • It also means we are unlikely to make items for this Raid that need art but aren't on this list (Helms, armor, cloaks, other weapons, etc), though it is possible - It just wouldn't have unique art. As we said above, upgrading some of the Myth Drannor quest loot could be an option here.

Useful Feedback:
For the purpose of this thread, actionable constructive feedback factors in the following:
  • Contains what you do want to see, not (just) what you don't want to see
  • Is specific about effects when possible, or frames out the purpose of the item you want to see
  • Stays within the rules of the Unchangeable Parts above

Would it be possible to post the unique art even if not finished yet here? I think making suggestions on weapons makes more sense if you see what type of are its going with.

I should maybe add that to the Unchangeable Parts section in the OP. We are unlikely to ever (now or in the future) make Sun or Moon Augments that have more than one bonus.
Not even hit and damage? If you are going to keep these separate then the attack bonus needs to be increased a lot to make it interesting

1. Quiver with Range Alacrity 20%
2. Anybow and Long Bow With Legendary Force Burst, Elasticity, Fetters of unreality, Concentrated corrosive salt.
3. 2 Dagger set, or 2 longsword sets with diff stats like Pain and suffering daggers.
4. A scepter with Xachosian Earthweller clickie or item with that clickie +X amount to psionic to universal spellpower
5. Lonsword or scepter with quality devotion and sacred bonus to positive spell power.
6. Moon Blade or Moon handwraps - Defender Weapon +15% Legendary bonus to AC, critical multiplier +1 on 19-20, improved finesse, sovereign vorpal, When you hit a creature of a specific type (such as dragon, fiend, or undead) with the moonblade, the target takes an extra xd6 damage of one of these types: acid, cold, fire, lightning, or Force.
7. Holy Avenger Bastard sword in the hands of a paladin unlocks it potential.
8. Chaos Factor- a Falchion with wild magic surge that confers you the scion of the limbo buffs or any other buffs every minute.
9. Scepter of Decay - Concentrated corrosive salt, Legendary Ash, Legendary Dust and mummy gift.

Raid Armors and shields made of mithril, so +2 MDB over standard and all the other goodies.
More augs. Dual spell power ones were great. How about dual DR bypass if you don't want to give us a metaline or an aligned one yet? A Silver/Good orange aug would be thematic and replace vampire slayer as the go-to choice. Or add additional effects alongside the DR. Deconstructor is a good example giving armor destruction and adamantine bypass and is extremely popular

An armor that looks like a spikey turtle shell.....also a shield this way i guess, and a warhammer weapon?

Basically I need stuff to help me look more like Bowser so do that.

Also, if there is any upgrade system for weapons/armor or in future, please do not do the destroy/create method that you did with the sora kell gear in the recent droam update. The nearly finished/storm reaver/abbot upgrade methods where they remove/add traits to the items preserves any mythic/reaper statss you might have been lucky enough to get.

A new spark for Sentient weapon...last one was Logic from Saltmarsh Expansion. Nothing from IoD or Vecna and now Myth Drannor so seems like it is due.

There will not be a new Greatsword in this Raid, sorry. That said, many of the weapons we will have can be Favored Weapons and are supported by the KOTC tree.
Even if you use the KotC and Divine Crusader EDs, THF only has Great Sword, Maul, and Quarterstaff available.
There is no Falchion or Great Axe, so Paladins who need a favored two-handed weapon tend to become Wood Elves.
People who use THF tend to choose Wood Elves. Eberron is overflowing with Wood Elves.

Please, I beg you, add Falchion to the KotC or Divine Crusader ED.

Paladins who want to use a Falchion have no choice but to become Wood Elves.
Please allow us to use Falchions with various races.

I think Steelstar means that the weapons will have a "natural favored weapon" tag on each. Like how you can get a curse card turning any weapon into a favored weapon.

As a long time player, I gota say. We need a legendary Sun Sword or something to that effect.

A side note as well, another bard artifact with 5 slots would be great. We still have the fiddle (which rules) but it is stuck with 3.

Also more moon augment items or a sun/moon augment item.

But most importantly we have not yet seen a Dragonmark boosting item besides helm of the sentinel. A minot artifact that boosts DM's would be sick.

Had a day to think about some more weapon effects... these are the sorts of fun things hoping from items. Stuff that makes the raid gasp and go "cooooool".
  • The ninja dagger / shuriken - gets a +1 multi and displacement for 3 seconds after tumbling (Xs cooldown). Mobility or First Blood feat.
  • Staff of Ruin - has Ruin as clicky.
  • Falchion of Ascendancy - has a lesser Paladin Ascendancy effect (from KotC)
  • Molten Longbow - has a chance to cast delayed blast fireball at target on hit. Scales with ranged power?
  • Orb of Absorption (orbsorption) - Absorbs 5 spell effects. On no charges left, trigger a mass silence effect as the magic absorbed explodes! Proc chance to receive temp spell points.
  • Reaper's Kama - lifesteal/thp on hit and chance to apply negative levels. Chance to hamstring/slow as their soul withers.
  • Colorful Rapier - proc chance of colours of the queen on hit.

How about a weapon of Sovereign cruelty—basically minor CC stuff that ends up feeling satisfying—Hamstring, Limchopper (taken from Mindos’ suggestion), LGS Salt, Life Stealing, hey even Legendary CON damage (like 6 per whack).

You can cruelly beat down an isolated mob, listen and observe the procs, feel your RL stress diminish.
