Stick build question(s)

Is pure monk the way to go with Qstaves now? If so, are they pretty straight forward to build (i.e just follow Henshin)? Any recommendations on build and Enhancement/Destiny trees? I’ve never played anything more than a monk splash so am very inexperienced with the potential of the class but I’m hearing stick builds are good now and I’ve been wanting to give one a try for a while. It will be a first lifer 34 point build with whatever basic low level tomes I’ve got kicking around (+1’s and some 2’s).

I run stick builds on the TR train, been awhile since I had high monk levels, but 6 monk / 4 rogue for SA, UMD and trapping is my goto. Falconry tree was key for wisdom to hit/damage until the recent revamp.

Pure monk is feat starved imo, mix in fighter or dragonlord.

90+% is probably the same as @Ying build a little further down. Swap out TWF for THF. Stunning fist for something else. I chose Discipline (for GMoF cores). Stunning blow is viable, especially for STR builds

The key thing to keep in mind is that there will be a number of Stat requirements:
THF requires STR 15 by level 3 and 17 by level 9
Dodge requires DEX 13 at level 1
If multiclassing keep in mind that some feats have BAB requirements

Pure Henshin 20 monk is great for a WIS build as it contains WIS to hit, damage and trance all in one convenient place. I'm sure there are multiclass builds out there that leverage Dragon Lord for a STR build and Rogue as above.

This is my current build for enhancements:
HM 41ap (c6, t5)
Shintao 31 ap (c5)
NS 8ap (Haste Boost)

20 HM monk is fast, survivable, lots of melee power in the cores and great healing. I'm commenting on a levelling experience. I have no idea regarding end game (raids, high reaper)

Oh ... get an elemental bloom for levels 7 to 20 and the CitW staff (raiders box?) from 23

Quarterstaffs are fine for R1 leveling. I did STR-based Dark Bargainer as Warlock 1, Rogue 5 for T5 Acrobat, 14 Dragon Disciple (b/c I wanted the DD past life). One of the easiest leveling experiences I've had.

I wouldn't play Quarterstaffs at level cap for grinding Reaper XP. They are weaker than other THF options because they have lower weapon dice (1d6 qstaff vs 1d12 gaxe/2d6 gsword).

Dang that’s too bad. I had heard they were really good now. I guess it’s relative
