Store charging 15% VAT when buying points

Today I bought a few DDO points and was charged 15% VAT

I am located in the USA and have been for many years, pretty sure previous purchases have not been charged this much tax, I certainly would have noticed.

Sales tax in my state is nowhere near 15%, any one know where I can find out more of what these supposed tax amounts are and why it is being added? Not using a VPN either.

Not all countries impose a VAT on goods and services, including the United States. The U.S. does not have a VAT even though many industrialized countries do. :coffee:
