Stormsinger feel good

I have been mixing it up a lot in recent lives since I got off the Alchemist Addiction Train playing twf, 2hf, bow, repeater, great Xbox(!), and Sorcs but Stormsinger bards just feel...good.

Not sure how that will play out in epic (lvl 15) currently but they seem well serviced in ED trees and it's very smooth levelling heroics. Honestly feels VERY close to the sorc lives for power but with added utility, healing, cc and support.

Stormsinger is fine for R1 leveling. It falls off in Legendary content for similar reasons as Blightcaster.

Yeah I can see it struggling to find a niche at cap but I'm not bothered about that at the moment. It can do all the tricks, run fast and has responsive spell casting so I'm pretty happy.

DDO has been going so long it has games within the game which is quite funny.

Also, I ran some R6s in Sharn just for giggles and it performed quite well, even under level. Admittedly in a group but seemed ok.

They are so good for leveling! High speed, many SLAs, heals

I always lean into the AOE sonic/cold spells and buff electric SP as high as I can get it.

My latest iteration is THF pushing Strike-thru as high as I can alongside whirlwind. Don't get the lightning strike as often as I'd like to see but I run in groups and with all the melee and ranged attacks going off it's fun, knowing almost all those lightning strikes are me... (my better half runs a blightcaster and uses call lightning/lightning storm)

I like it fine as a jack-of-all trades build. I recently finished a TR using a build somewhere between the ones created by Unsinful and Christhemiss: T5 Spellsinger, 31 AP Stormsinger, PA mantle, T5 Fatesinger with EA for heals and wings.

My main is a sorc and my secondary toon is a FvS, so I find that stormsinger fits nicely between the two by bringing the buffs, CC, and heals with a side of sonic DPS.

Can get high enough evocation dcs - capitalise on that with soundburst and burst of glacial wrath for helpless CC and great shout for non helpless stuns. Your shouts will heal allies with core 4 in FS whilst doing cone damage.

My DCs seem ok at 15. Enough to land Electric Loop reliably which I enlarge and prefer to sound burst (although I use that too) as it lasts longer.

Looking forward to the FS stuff. Have used it before on my sorc but think it will be extra fun on the bard.

While very nice, Electric Loop doesn’t make mobs helpless like soundburst though. But Loop and Chain Lightning usually clears a fair few mobs in a pack.

Yes true although on the whole I find it doesn't matter so much as they die anyway just as fast. Probably better for epics then but perhaps Mass Hold better to use then (although see below).

For some reason I also find Sound burst misfires more often than loop but perhaps that's my imagination. I use both which in itself says a lot about the variety of options for Stormsinger.

Once I have the APs I will play around with T5 selection. SS seems to hard to beat maybe iceberg adds a bit more DPS. I keep forgetting to use Mass Hold Monster! Just need to get into the habit I guess....

I use T5 SS - I find I have enough CC options without MHM and I’m not really missing the heal spell (or wail for that matter).
Iceberg however is very useful for single target dps.
