I'm guessing the Archmage changes were insufficient to bother with the rumored U61 Wizard build? lol
Was intrigued at what you might have come up with.

Hi Strimtom, thank you so much for all of the hard work you have done making and maintaining your guides and videos, they have been a big help and it is very much appreciated!

I had a question about a build you posted a few years ago? The Pale Master Trapper, 18 wiz/2 rogue: https://forums-old.ddo.com/forums/showthread.php/532482-How-to-be-a-death-knight-for-free-to-play!

I am going to make my first wizard and being able to handle traps is always nice. I plan to play alone without using quest guides, nor even ship buffs so if I could somehow fit in spot AND still handle traps/locks that would be pretty nice! I am not playing on hardcore so dying is not the end of the world. I know you made this two years ago so was thee anything you would suggest changing about it to fit in spot while also being able to handle locks and traps, or even without spot, anything else you would suggest knowing it won't be on Hardcore and that two years have passed?

Thank you again so much for your hard work! :)

I'm reserving this post for more builds.
Hey Strimtom, this is my first time looking over your stuff and gotta say I'm impressed! I got back into DDO after about 8 years away and found your stuff while trying to find an updated Bard Cha Swashbuckler build. I was using the Old Count of Monte Cristo, but it seems to be outdated. Really hope you apply your genius into making a better your version of it someday! Thanks and Merry Christmas!!

I'm returning TO DDO after a few years and the build option that I knew , i havent been able to find online anymore. Wanted to try doing a Gloomstalker ranger / Light cleric or War cleric multiclass but have been unable to find ant build charts for DDO 1st time character with a 28 point build to try out.

Any useful advice is welcome on feats abilities and point distributions during creation and leveling

I'm a beginning player and I have a question/comment on the beginner classes.

One thing that confuses me is the gear each class should have while leveling.
I believe it's wrong to ask for specific gear items, but could one suggest the stats one should look for when selecting gear.

I wish to play a wizard although I selected human instead of gnome so I am focused on the wizard portion of the beginner's guide.

I am very confused by what stacks and doesn't stack regarding spell power.

I think I want universal spell power on gear whenever possible; is this correct?

I am not sure what happens when two gear items have the same spell power type.
If two gear items have potency, does the potency stack?
If two items have a specific spell power, say fire, does that stack?

I have the impression one compares the total potency with a specific spell power, say fire, and whichever is higher is the spell power used; is this correct?

Since I am a beginner, there are things in the feats and skills and spells and enhancements I would have selected differently out of ignorance and I would have made a mess. The fact I selected human instead of gnome is already an example. When I was asked which race, I selected human without having a clear reason why. I will remain a human and see what happens out of curiosity.

Thank you for your beginner guides. They will help me.

I am very confused by what stacks and doesn't stack regarding spell power.

Potency covers all spell types, but does not stack with specific ones.

You want the highest that you can find for your primary elements. Two of the same type do not stack, just the highest one applies. There are some things that do stack though, Insightful spell power, Spellsight, the item's Implement bonus (scepters, orbs, quarterstaffs), as well as Artifact bonuses that can be found on named item sets.

Some other key stats that you want to try to get on gear: Fortification, Protection, Resistance, Death Block, Constitution, Intelligence, False Life

There are some really nice set bonuses from Feywild level 5 gear, Red Fens at level 7, Ravenloft at level 10, Sands at 10/11, and Sharn at level 15.

Red Fens set items can be obtained by running the level 9 quests on any difficulty, since they come from the end reward, rather than a chest, so you could run those on Casual at level 7 and likely pickup several nice items.

The Sands, Red Fens, and Saltmarsh items can all be upgraded to Epic. A popular set for Casters in Epics, is the Elders Cap + Gem of Many Facets from the Chronoscope, which is a craftable trinket wtih an augment slot & you can re-roll the set bonuses on the Epic version until you get the desired sets.

DDO Wiki Page on Named Item Sets: https://ddowiki.com/page/Named_item_sets#Heroic_3

Edit: Keep on the Borderlands has really nice ML2 and ML20 Caster Scepters, and they are easy to acquire, trade in mats that drop in quest end chests, and wilderness rare chests.
