Stuck on game launcher "Initializing"

After typing in username/password, the launcher normally would display Initializing for a second before loading game in a separate browser. However since game update & windows update, it is stuck on Initializing.

Things I've tried with no success:
  • Use different account
  • Change game servers
  • Repair Game data, reload launcher to patch
  • Flush DNS
  • Use a VPN
  • Use mobile hotspot
  • Restart pc
  • Reinstalled Microsoft Visual C++ Redistributable
  • Removes DDO folder in Documents

Changing to 32-bit client in the options menu seems to have fixed issue. 64-bit client has the issue.

Reinstalled game and now launcher goes through Initializing and closes itself but launches nothing...

Good news is, the steam version of DDO is working. Who would've thought...

Solved the issue. Since Steam version DDO was working, I compared the files with the direct download directory. And libcef.dll sizes were incredibly different in x64 folder (164 MB vs 13 MB). Even after deleting the file and letting DDO launcher re-download it, it still wouldn't match.
Copy pasting steam's file over and ddoclientx64 launches without issue.

Got same issue after last Patch,
Things I've tried with no success:

  • Restart pc
  • Removes DDO folder in Documents
  • change lot of options : Proxy ; 32bits/64bits ; full resolution or not ...

Currently stuck trying to log in. It is incredibly slow until it gets to the Check Product where it has been at 44% for the last 5 minutes.

I have restarted my computer a couple of times, and am not having any other issues with internet access. Unsure what is going on here?

Im in Australia if that has any impact.

Update: I did a Repair and the .DAT files were all re-downloaded. The loader again stayed at 44% for a while but then moved on and kept loading. Now it is stuck at 77% done (Checking dat files).

Do I just uninstall and reinstall? Or is it possible it still gets stuck at this same point?

Update 2: After 30 minutes the loader started working again and took another 30 minutes to finishing installing everything. Then when I loaded the game I was sitting on 15% to 18% lost packets for probably 15 or 20 minutes before things finally cleared. No idea what was going on but it seems to now be working ok.
