Suggestion: Item Icons show sockets

Just a thought I had

I appreciate it might be an engineering ballache but how about a 3x3 pixel dot on an item icon that shows what sockets are on it (coloured for the socket colour)? The middle pixel could black if it's empty and then the same colour as the socket if filled.

While we're finally getting UI scaling it'd be nice to get some UI improvements during that.

I think someone, somewhere mentioned that there tried in the past and it had technical difficulties.
My suggestion would be to only affect no named items from now on and not retroactive in order to alleviate some technical difficulties.
Symphony of the fey illustrated that they can do custom borders. If all newly randomly generated items that get to have a slot add a property that will change its visuals that would work too.

Let's call the property slotted.
At the random item generator, when a slot is added they just add the property slotted.
The property slotted works like symphony of the fey and produces a custom border.

And here is your technical solution, at least for random items which is the ones we actually care for.

Or you could take a whole second or two and hover your mouse over the item to see its description like people have been doing just fine for 20 years.
