Why are u guys still bashing cs!?? Do you realy think they do all all this bs and dont do anything hat they are paid for, WITHOUT ssg actually knowing it and without ssg's consent!????
If you haven't figured it out from this thread or the numerous other threads on similar topics, then there's no point in trying to explain it to you. Save everyone's time and keep those kind of comments to yourself.

I had zero transfer issues too, but I also never duped or purchased any items from any farmers or any other source for that matter.

I also disagree that such suggestions are bad for the community, anything that impresses that dupers or purchasers from dupers will be excessively punished is good fir the community in my eyes, we obviously see it differently.

I am quite happy if SSG burns entire kingdoms of dupers/duoer beneficiaries to the ground to make the game a better place.
Well, that's a bit overboard, punishing people that purchased from dupers is stupid, as its extremely difficult to know you have purchased something from a duper without them outright telling you "hey i duped an item do you want it?" Even if you refused said item and decided to purchase it off the ah with shards or plat, then you would still have no idea if it was placed there by a duper and if it was duped or not. Not everything is black and white, there is a very grey area in-between that some people want to pretend doesn't exist while they get the items they want from it from atop their high horses. With as much stuff that was duped during the card event, I would be willing to bet that the majority of people have unwittingly purchased or have had at least one item or augment or whatever given to them that was duped. I know that for a while after the card event, augments were fairly cheap on the two auction houses and i took advantage and bought several meteoric star rubies any of which could have been duped. Should I be punished for purchasing those augments? How about anyone who has purchased any augment from an ah in the years since?

Update: I could now transfer two of my remaining four stuck characters. Unpacking seemed to be turned off, though, so couldn't do that.

Still two left, but hey... glass half empty, glass... getting eaten by a black hole situation, I guess?

We currently live in a corporatacracy. If this statement were untrue, companies wouldn't be doing things like this. They would rise above this and treat the customer better, with dignity and respect. Long gone are those days though. Dont get me wrong, I myself work in customer service. I work for a very prominent cellphone and internet provider in my area, and I get some customers who are real jerks. But no matter how they treat me, the face of the company - I STILL have to be a human and treat them as a human and not take it personal when they use me as an emotional punching bag. Most of the times they are just fed up and venting because they aren't receiving what they paid for - same as here. But at least we actually respond and try to help them to the best of our ability.
Usually, if i hit jerk mode with a cs agent, its because i have been through several others while i was still in nice mode and it got me nowhere and now I'm finally wound up to the max anger/irritation and i get transferred to you. I recently spent about a month dealing with vudu cs and got nowhere with them but eventually got hung up on due to the things i said to the cs agent after trying to explain the issue for the 4th time in the same phone call. There was a language barrier and the agent had no way of understanding the issue due to the barrier but was still supposed to assist me in correcting it.

Some auction house purchases are obvious and can be tracked by SSG, i will leave the grey area up to their decisive means, but I still support their choice to burn dupers to the ground leaving the dupers and profiteers of dupers with nothing.

Therefore i am unable to confirm that you should be punished for purchasing duped items because clearly your post has no admission of guilt. It would solely be SSG’s choice whether to investigate or punish, I merely support the harshest of punishments for those they find guilty.

If someone actually gets caught duping, or someone is assisting or profiting from it, then sure, but I'm talking about all the other people that are just playing the game and purchasing items, even those who highly suspect that they purchased something that was duped. There is a line where punishment is warranted, and a line where there is no point. I didn't dupe anything, but chances are that i have at least one meteoric star ruby that was duped due to the sheer amount of them that i purchased. This basically comes down to having to catch people in the act because just having a large amount of an item doesn't mean you duped it and should be punished.

Certainly if they gave large quantities of an item of considerable value unlike the ruby you are suggesting, they mist certainly should be stripped of all power and locked out of the toon that profited from that duped item.

A good example of such an item would be “boxes”, take away all power from those that can be found to have attained many of these by nefarious means. Akso check for any mules they are linked to that might be holding more “boxes”.

Burn their kingdom down with the appropriate punishment SSG.

In principle I agree with you, but I have a question for you:
Assuming you have a duped ruby and SSG could detect it. What should they do?

Assuming, no one can prove you duped it or got it through auction house.

Similar question for you Narc. What you thing is a just action from SSG.

Obviously, we agree that is an account can be identified as a duper, the account is blocked etc.

But a toon holding a duped item, is not exactly the same.

You really are quite the stubborn guy you know. Impressive how much you have put up with and still play the game.

Or maybe a lil/lot bit crazy !

Unless SSG has said at some point that dupers/cheaters were not going to transfer properly I doubt that anybody is held up for that reason.

It's possible that during the transfer process SSG looked closely at the characters being transferred however after nearly 20 years of play the odds on finding evidence of duping are low. Even if a character or account had hundreds of Otto's Boxes (or other very unlikely value) and you could match their inventory against their store purchases you would not be able to conclusively prove that duping or other illegal action had occurred.

Some players just have ridiculous inventories at this point due to a decade plus of 10 hour a day play. And those people are definitely out there.

I would say that some cases would be obvious enough for them to do the math on acquired otto boxes, hopefully with auction house they have enough data to see time of posting and time of purchase. Hopefully they track those that do gifting of such items and receiving, people that have engaged in this behaviour are likely to do it repeatedly and therefore should be easy to spot in the excessive cases.

Dont ban these accounts just make them start over from scratch, they will be to shamed to let people know what they got caught doing, and then they will spend plenty of money to catch up.

Leave it alone, or trade it for a non duped one. If it was purchased fairly and with no foreknowledge of its nefarious origin, then no wrong was done by the person who purchased it. By removal with no recompense you would then be punishing a person unfairly who had nothing to do with the rules infraction.

Never give up, never surrender!

And definitely more to the "lot crazy" side, but the voices say that is a good thing.
I don't think you're crazy;) Those voices must be there for a reason, right?... However, after looking into WebMD, you might be suffering from MMDS (Monster Manual Derangement Syndrome) or possibly an addiction or proclivity to beating dead horses. I hear all are treatable though, with proper coding. :)

I hear you. Still I believe that they should remove the item. Giving a form of compensation is under discussion but it is possessing an "illegal" item and the item should be removed.

How would you trade anything for a non duped one on a ghostworld with a packed toon ?
