I can't really see anyone liking this loot system except mega-whales who shard reroll, multi-boxing 6 accounts and *maybe* extreme grinders that have nothing else to do in the game.

For whale hunting, the card system was perfect IMHO. Purely chase items - whales buying rerolls to re-aquire gear and buying cleanse cards. But it doesn't really affect the rest of the playerbase. You don't need the curses and can still build your gear without them.

Rare loot however is just needless punishment for the vast majority of the playerbase.

And otherwise, a cosmetic focus would have been so much better for DDO's playability. Cosmetic focused games make a lot of $$$ too.

This.

There are a few no-lifers who legit defend this stupidity. The rest are people who think they are trolls.
I think they defend it because they are coming from games like World of Warcraft where "rare loot" means something completely different than it does in DDO.

That's the only explanation that makes sense.

Yes but you're also a hate-filled internet troll who's sole reason for existing is to ruin the game for others.

It doesn’t matter what you guys think/say; they made a killing off rerolls from myth drannor so they will continue to pump it out as is.

Interesting how you are so vehemently against the rare MD loot, If you didn't buy it nor get it with points...
I was against it too without owning it. It's just math. I couldn't say the quests were good or bad back then, but I know what percentages mean. I finally ended up spending points to get it so I could run with my guildies, but that is the only reason I bought it.

Could always switch to a Common, Uncommon, Rare, Very Rare and Mythic levels of loot. Maybe even add in a Unique level set of items (1/server style). (Along with Reaper and Mythic bonuses.)

Well, it sets a bad precedent. If future loot will also have rares, it will be terrible for the game.

Source? And how many people are this? DDO cannot survive on whales alone. I thought they make new servers that can host MORE people, but rare loot could very well alienate enough non-whales that player numbers drop. Or maybe most players stay, but they lose sales from low/mid spenders and those outnumber whales by far.

One does not have to have eaten feces in order to be disgusted by the notion of eating it. Rare loot as introduced in MD stinks, both as a concept and in practice.
True but without first-hand knowledge One does not really have the standing to post, I dunno since I stopped after a few pages but, somewhere around 50+ times in a thread about rare loot being the worst thing ever.

Nonsense. I don't have to stick my junk in an electric outlet to know it's a bad idea.

Unpopular opinion. I want rare loot

HOWEVER...i think all the rare loot should simply be straight upgrades of non rare loot that does the same thing, just not as well. So you can still complete your Tetris reasonably, and then work to upgrade your pieces

Even better if it's just a rare component that lets you upgrade any (or certain) pieces, while keeping their augments/sentience/curses/mythic/reaper bonuses etc.

Yes we have the standing to post. It's math. That's it. I don't need to open 300 chests without getting what I'm after to understand the math involved. Do you need to purchase 20,000 lottery tickets to understand the odds of you winning the jackpot is 290,000,000 to 1? Well maybe you do.

I've never been shot in the stomach but I'm positive I would hate that. Its really not that complicated to look at something, see that it appears unpleasant, and me a judgement call about not enjoying it.

Maybe you'd like to try a few of the things others have suggested?
