TavernTails Tournment of "Villains!"

Sthahd was defeated by Lloth?! What a heresy!!!
Purge the heretics! Exterminate!!! 🤣
That's because Strahd isn't a villain. It's just WOTC propaganda with their fake 5e version of the lore. Strahd is an actual war hero who sold his soul to free his people. I'm tempted to believe the Strahd in 5e isn't even the real Strahd, just some time paradox of Azalin's mist manipulating traveling device or even someone else trapped in Strahd's body. Those who read the 2nd edition hyskosa prophecy series of adventures and the old
novels know what I'm talking about.

If anything Jander is the real villain.

welp. its more like a fan favorite, than a matchup of their powers.
a mere succubus, a mortal local criminal and a vampire shouldn't be a challenge for warforged titans, really powerful demons and dragons or even gods.

Vecna ? And what did he do to be in that list in the 1st place ?
He appeared twice during the entire game, said "I am Vecna" and after that everyone forgot about him and went to play with dinosaurs ? 🙄
He might be a great PnP villain with a rich story etc. but can we see all of that in DDO ? Nope !

Someone like Strahd suffers from the same thing.
For example, we can see and feel Raiyum's doing over the whole Menechtarun. Can we say something like that about Ravenloft ? No. Barovia is on its own, Strahd is on his own hanging around somewhere.

Same goes for almost every "villain" in DDO. 😓

Malicia is quite the charismatic villain at least. The final battle should have taken place between Malicia and Yaulthoon IMHO. But, we've got Malicia VS Lolth. I bet some people voted just because some NPC were put into Raids.
I mean Vecna was the brains behind 3 expansions, Malicia was a throwaway villain. I mean she is charming, but also easily beaten. Her only real redeeming quality is that she can't die. Though, that is true for half the list, turns out its quite hard to kill strong people in the D&D universe :p Xy'zzy should have win for being a good doggy!
Edit: You could say that he was the brain behind 4 expansions, since Lucian stole the reality anchor from Stormreach so that Singer-fawn could sneak in and get in and steal the codex pages to give to Vecna (Well, its implied the hags arranged that manipulation, rather than it being on purpose on Lucians part). If Vecna hadn't made the deal with Hyrsam to open a portal to Lammania, none of that would have happened.

1 expansion and 1 adventure pack. 😑 At best.

In Feywild (+Lost Gatekeepers) he did nothing. Everything were planned and done by Hyrsam.

In IoD he did nothing. We forgot about Vecna the moment we stepped on the Island where our single goal was to get back home to Eberron. Though, to achieve this goal we have chosen a strange path. We literally forgot that we needed to get back home and started saving locals from pirates and dinosaurs from poachers. 🙄

In Grip of the Hidden Hand he appeared in the end, said "It was all my plan" and dissapeared. "Cool". 🥱 Well, OK, at least it was his plan. (+ epic giant rats, chipmunks and other creatures. 😆)

In Vecna Unleashed we forgot about Vecna right from the beginning and run around all of the local "deities" (Eberron doesn't have gods as per lore). It's as if the locals don't know that they don't need rivalry from some kind of foreign god.

So what actually Vecna did besides being in the name of the expansion again ? We hardly saw him in the game.

I don't think Vecna was a good villain (in DDO) but it's weird that you ignore his appearance in IoD because it's not part of the quest cycle, but then ignore it in VU because (I guess) it's only in the quest cycle.

FoM Is weird anyway, taking place between the 3rd and 4th of 9 quests.

I didn't say he was the main villain, but Feywild/Lost Gatekeepers wouldn't have happened if Vecna wasnt offering Hyrsam the power of Lammania in exchange for the codex pages. Also you miss the point where I'm comparing him to Malicia, not as a villain as a whole. I don't think he is that great of a villain, but he at least had more influence on events than Melicia did, and yet the person I was quoting was discounting him but not her.
