Technical dual monitor question

I have a second monitor plugged into my laptop, and I use it for everything, from DDO to word processing. I tried setting my system up as dual monitors so I can have the game up on the monitor while I make in-game notes on a document on the laptop. The system recognized the dual setup fine, and my mouse traveled back and forth between the two screens with no problem. BUT... the game would no longer display on the second monitor, nor would Firefox. Weirder, some of my Word docs would display on the second monitor, and some wouldn't.

Any suggestions?

If you run it windowed, it will behave properly. That means you have to deal with some of the quirks of playing with the game in windowed mode, but you can put it on any of your monitors easily then. Probably not the only solution, but you can use it as a workaround until someone gives a better suggestion.

What is windowed?
It is a setting in DDO's graphics options - Windowed display screen mode. Don't use Full Screen or Full Screen (Windowed). Just plain "Windowed."

This will allow you to move the entire window DDO is in to your other screen.
