I just watched the craziest dichotomy of Gen X technology and the newest gen of kids. My neighbor watches their grandkids during the day. One of them was cruising up and down the road on a Big Wheel. Thought that was cool, hardly ever see those any more. Then he stopped at the end of the driveway and pulled out his phone to check something.

When we were sitting on our Big Wheels, I don't think we ever imagined having a phone with us. Biggest adventures of our time was finding an awesome hill of dirt to ride down.

Before transferring, I deleted a bunch of characters and threw away something like 20 million platinum.

I cannot play much but check the Auction House fairly regularly. Since arriving on Cormyr, I've blown at least 30 million platinum buying stuff. Kinda funny.

So i kinda messed up the transfer thing and sent my main to the wrong server... Alt made it fine... oh well **** happens.. just means i cant unpack as the guild dont exist so it always ends in "no guild so ..fail" lol
But that didnt bother me as much as the 30 second lag spikes.. yes 30 second. It is impossible to do anything when the game literally freezes me in place for 30 seconds at a time every few minutes. All i can do is watch the endless "dodge/ miss/ damage" notices happening to me and hope i'm alive at the end end of the spike to be able to do anything.

Worst i've ever seen in DDO :(

Unpack will work after, may have to run it (unpack) a second time to clear the error.

edit to add: Odd, lag on Cormyr has been rare from the start, what we got on Shadowdale faded out a couple weeks ago after one of the updates (the wilderness unloading one if memory serves) I haven't had a showstopping lag spike since then that I can recall.

oh nice, will try that line later on. It looked more like a "cosmetic" error as everything else unpacked ok, just i still had the "packed" icon left over.

Interesting about the wilderness comment, as it was in a wilderness area that i was getting the freezes on. I didn't try an actual quest. Will try one when i get on to see.

Before the 'lag fix', I only experienced minor lag of Cormyr. After the 'lag fix', I experience the lag Issiana describes. Before the 'lag fix', I earned 6 Reaper Steeds without any difficulty. After the 'lag fix', I was hit with multiple incidents of huge lag in the graveyard.

For me, the 'lag fix' made things far worse to the point I stopped trying to play. I may try again once more before Night Revels ends.

When a character deletes a guild, the character's guild renown contribution is also deleted. If that matters to you ... well ...

sandevistan just... did not work. i tried several public models, but they all just kind of bad. i've reached a point where i've decided to just design my own. so going to take a nap, then take a stab at it.

so yeah, i went ahead and did just that!
stayed up till 11am two nights in a row out of pure annoyance, and this is the end result lol.
first time modeling something from scratch too!

Ok so i think just maybe my "Lag" issues are actually related to my internets connection.
I was doing some document downloads for work a couple days ago and noticed periods where the downloads just plain stopped for up to a 1min at a time at very regular occurrences, but later on that day it was all fine.

Doing a bit of a pingplot trace it appears my network has a tower that's still not been fixed several years on and it is only now really making its Prescence known - its running at 99% packet loss....

So... Business starlink system has been ordered and im moving to starlink. It's looking like starlink will be 50 to 100x better stability and downloads to what i'm currently getting on a 5G system.

I'm in a small coastal town in New Zealand with no physical land line to my house Doomboy. Population is approx 1,000 and not having a physical phone / fibre connection is a small price to pay for this little slice of heaven

I won't bump the year-old threads that finally explain how to get the explorer point Temple of Shaundakul in MD, but I will say that's a pretty ridiculous setup. Bonus silliness, if you fall off the wall at the wrong spot, it's a /Stuck spot over some rubble.

Also finding that when they say "rare" spawns out there, they're not kidding. I hit 4,681 Slayer and completed the MD saga before i got the first rare to spawn.
