THE ENDGAME OOZE WEAPON USER EPIDEMIC

I have been thinking about the oozemancers. In The Pit there is an optional ooze named Avatar of Juiblex. Juiblex is an ooze demon lord that spans half of the abyssal plane 222, the other half is ruled by Zuggtmoy. There is a massive wall of acid-resistance fungus dividing her half with the half that is Juiblex. Juiblex's only goal is to expand. Juiblex does not send "avatars" per-say, but rather priests summon small chunks of Juiblex.
Players, after running The Pit through so many past-lives, have been corrupted by the influence of the Juiblex worshippers. For the good of Stormreach they must be confined.

Personally, my characters have never looted an Aspect of Tar augment and never cashed in the runes for IoD for a tar augment and never ran enough Shroud to create a Legenedary Ooze weapon.

However, it looks like playing a summoner of Oozes and Oozemancers need developer's support. Right now its too random for the Oozes to be useful as the Ooze don't move with the oozemancer and don't attack or retreat on oozemancer command. There needs to be controlled chaos for them to be useful.

Everything you're describing sounds like it makes things better.
play a tank and say that . when boss doesn't move cause a ozze is in front of him( they do intim and high a really high intim for some reason. i seen more raids go bad cuase of them/ put your ozze proc on a off hand weapon not main hand. now you can swap freely.

I have to admit I was part of this problem once. My apologies to everyone involved.

I really liked oozes in regular questing, since they took aggro away from me. This was fine in r10 questing, bur obviously bad in raids.

Again, apologies. I have learned my lesson... finally. Yes, it took longer than it should. I blame my parents, they thought int was a dump stat.

I will not give up my oozebows, either Greensteel or Tar. But I do use a different weapon in raids. Problem solved.

I still say that if you really want changes in this regard, the solution lies with the devs. Start a thread to encourage the devs to make changes to these types of weapons. In the short term, a way to disable/enable oozes production. In the long term, changes to summons, something very necessary.

There are many players who don't read the forums. Asking people not to use these weapons in raids when most people aren't going to read you is unproductive. On the other hand, the gameplay options, especially raid weapons, should work well. The change lies with the devs.

Is it end game or raid? I don't think of those as the same although there is overlap.

And, as someone who doesn't raid a lot, can someone explain the problem to me a little more clearly.

If I hit an ooze, it somehow draws agro from the boss?

Is it the "ooze beater" that is the problem or would it be a problem if I hit it with my great axe?

I don't see how the ooze beater is the problem or deleting all the ooze beaters will somehow fix the problem. Is it a general knowledge "don't hit oozes in a raid" that needs to be spread.

Is it really just certain raids or all of them?

Oozes are really useful for distraction in regular quests. But I agree, can be annoying and detrimental in a handful of raids. I am still guilty of using my ooze weapon in raids, admittedly. They are fine in most raids honestly, but in a handful they can screw things up at times.

It's not about enemy oozes, it's about friendly oozes. Certain weapons spawn friendly oozes that do friendly ooze stuff - like hit a thing they're not supposed to, take aggro off even the scariest and most threatening of tanks randomly turning bosses to cleave on people they shouldn't be cleaving on(FoM, any dragon, rtso), they can kill ice orbs before the boss makes it there (FoM) and otherwise making bosses that need to be moved around to specific spots not move to specific spots (PN, Den of Vipers, Threats, FoM) carry danger fire bomb covid around (Threats) and so forth.

They can also tank stuff which is good. They can hold trash mobs at bay when needed. They're supremely helpful at regular questing even up to R10 quests to hold aggro ./ take the heat off ./ you name it.

In some raids, they can make everyone miserable if the stars align. And they align surprisingly often - and in some raids they're super detrimental consistently, like hitting Zulkis to make him teleport away from his kill spot / laser and Threats where they consistently make booms go boom harder and harder to avoid.

Oh. I see. Then yeah, I see the point. To sum it up, don't spawn oozes in raids. I would generally be against any kind of spawns or pets in raids due to unforeseen actions. And I think I want one of those weapons.

I understand the need to rant, but more than likely this information is probably intended for people like me, occasional raiders who just don't know any better. You got to dumb it down for some of us.

OR you could simply ask in raid not to use them or summons ...in quest, even r10, it doesnt matter.
