The Great First Life Race!

Hey everyone! Purrin here from Reaper Casual. (on Cormyr) I'm hosting a worldwide event (before we Xfer off to Thrane when they allow us.)
"The Great 1st Life Race" 1-30
- No XP Pots
- NO XP TOMES!
- No STAT tomes
- No Destiny Tomes
- No Slayer Pots
- No Xp stones from gambling
- No "Openers" (Looking at you Shadow Crypt)
- Teams of 2 (Pick Your Partner!)
- No Iconic
- Self found (No gear sent from main or bought from AH, but can be traded between teammates)
- A level 1 guild will be made (and you HAVE to be in it to participate)
- An Event Discord will be made (And you HAVE to be in it to Participate)
- Screenshots of each "Achievement" must be posted in discord to be verified before points are awarded.
- Points will not be publicly announced until the end of the event!
- No Ship Buffs!

(1st Place) First pick of their choice of Otto’s Box’s

There will be additional prizes as well depending on your points earned. This is for those who are unable to dedicate a WHOLE day to just a 1-30 race!
- 1 point per heroic character level (total 20)
- 2 points per Epic Character Level (total 20)
- 5 Points per Legendary Character Level (total 20)
- 2 Points per REAPER points acquired
- 1 Point for every 50 FAVOR acquired
- 3 points for every RAID completed per team (3 additional points for first team to complete, 2 for 2nd, 1 for 3rd) SCREENSHOTS REQUIRED
- First team to level 30 gets 10 extra points/ 2nd to 30 gets 7 extra points/ 3rd to 30 gets 5 extra points.
- 4 Points for first R4 Completed (With RXP given)
- 6 Points for first R6 Completed (With RXP given)
- 10 Points for first R10 Completed (With RXP given)


TREASURE HUNT! (screenshots required of the item being IN the chest if applicable)
There will be additional points awarded for acquiring certain items before any one else! (With repeats getting a lesser amount of points to still keep the incentive of hunting them!)
- 25 Points for First team to acquire Voice of the Master (5 Points for each team after)
- 5 Points for EACH (20 for the Set of 3) Seal of House Avithoul, Seal of House Dun'Robar, Seal of House Szind
- 15 Points for First Team to acquire all of the sister Mucks! Muckbane, Muck's Doom, Muck's Devastation (5 points for each team after)
- 5 Points for each of the following - Fish Stick, Frozen Fish Stick, Fried Fish Stick, Sword Fish, Frozen Sword Fish, Fried Sword Fish
- 10 Points for Homeless Cosplay set- Starter Rags, A Trash Can Lid?, Fish Stick (Or other Fish Weapon), Straw Hat
- 250 Points for Quiver of Alacrity (Memes and Dreams, but if you only get this you'll probably be first in the leaderboards!)
- 10 Points for Planar Gird (Dodge, Duck, Dip, Dive and Pick Traps)
- 15 Points for Chipmunk Funk (Have fun!)
- 10 Points for Mummified Bat (I promise it's just sleeping PETA)
- 10 Points for Necklace of Contemplation
- 10 Points for Visor of the Flesh Render Guards

Everyone participating will be making a new character and joining a new guild, yes. There will be people active in the discord not participating in the race keeping track of everyone's points to let the participants know where they stand in the race in real time. Screenshots are to make that portion a lot easier and keep track of who hits a goal first, etc. There are no permadeath rules, just no gear from alts n such.

You need to first Join the event Discord. (Even if you are on the fence about joining the event!) Information there is more up to date and in more details. I can’t fit everything in to one post without a big uproar about how long it is.

Discord is required for cheating prevention. Essentially, anytime you’re on your toon participating in the race you have to be in the event discord in your designated team channel. Admins will periodically pop in and do a cheat check. Your toon will also be required to be in an event guild, where you can actively check character locations. If you have more questions or even a slight interest, I urge you to join the event discord where your question may already be answered.

Discord is required for cheating prevention. Essentially, anytime you’re on your toon participating in the race you have to be in the event discord in your designated team channel. Admins will periodically pop in and do a cheat check. You’re toon will also be required to be in an event guild, where you can actively check character locations. How will the rules for no xp potions, outside gear, and openers and such be enforced? I'm interested but I don't want to end up competing against someone who slips something under the radar.

Discord is not able to prevent a group from cheating by providing themselves with outside gear. I come from a permadeath guild that had no choice because or game design to run on an honor system and have been doing permadeath for the past 15 years. Over the years I have seen all kinds of forms of cheaters albeit it was a very small handful of people that got caught with evidence of cheating, the remainder of people were solid honor bound folk.

I have offered in this competition to have my partner who is willing to have discord in the channel to post any accomplishments and be available to be stream reviewed by admins while our group runs. That does not seem to be enough, it seems even the rules are hidden behind the discord wall. Some people just dont want to put discord on their computers or use that voice chat for valid reasons, please see this link https://spyware.neocities.org/articles/discord for confirmation of any concerns you may also have with discord on your personal computer.


I even asked if myself and my teammate could be included unofficially(no access to the rewards, no official posting of our score on the leaderboards) in the competition by being in the competitive guild and have yet to be confirmed, which based off the lack of response is likely a ”no”, that leads me to the deductive conclusion that this is likely just a big promotion to recruit players into particular discord channels and discord itself. There was already a big enough push back on discord when it started asking players for their phone numbers when SSG said that the new social media would be discord and not the official forums, personally i think its silly that a group that offers full availability to be transparent is being blocked out because someone is unwilling to become part of a voice channel app that is known as a high risk for spyware.


To conclude discord will not be able to prevent cheaters, and forcing all players including those that have a willing party member in discord to then also have sign up for discord is more about recruitment than embracing competition.

I have withdrawn our team entry. Mainly due to the discord mandate. I applaud Purrin for hosting the event. Im sure Narc & I would be in the running to win an Otto's or two. Oh well...

This event was thought up by us initially just as a "Yo I bet I can out level you on a first lifer 1-30" between guildies. Eventually it evolved into making it an actual event allowing others on cormyr to participate in. How you manage to come to this conclusion because we want to use discord to at least try and regulate it is wild lol.
