The Great First Life Race!

Hey everyone! Purrin here from Reaper Casual. (on Cormyr) I'm hosting a worldwide event (before we Xfer off to Thrane when they allow us.)
"The Great 1st Life Race" 1-30
- No XP Pots
- NO XP TOMES!
- No STAT tomes
- No Destiny Tomes
- No Slayer Pots
- No Xp stones from gambling
- No "Openers" (Looking at you Shadow Crypt)
- Teams of 2 (Pick Your Partner!)
- No Iconic
- Self found (No gear sent from main or bought from AH, but can be traded between teammates)
- A level 1 guild will be made (and you HAVE to be in it to participate)
- An Event Discord will be made (And you HAVE to be in it to Participate)
- Screenshots of each "Achievement" must be posted in discord to be verified before points are awarded.
- Points will not be publicly announced until the end of the event!
- No Ship Buffs!
(More Rules may be added or changed at a later date)


There is a prize for the fastest 3 groups:
(1st Place) First pick of their choice of Otto’s Box’s
(2nd Place) 2nd Pick of Otto’s Box’s
(3rd Place) 3rd pick of Otto’s Box’s

2 Imp Epic Otto’s Box’s
2 Epic Otto’s Box’s
2 Heroic Otto’s Box’s


There will be additional prizes as well depending on your points earned. This is for those who are unable to dedicate a WHOLE day to just a 1-30 race!
- 1 point per heroic character level (total 20)
- 2 points per Epic Character Level (total 20)
- 5 Points per Legendary Character Level (total 20)
- 2 Points per REAPER points acquired
- 1 Point for every 50 FAVOR acquired
- 3 points for every RAID completed per team (3 additional points for first team to complete, 2 for 2nd, 1 for 3rd) SCREENSHOTS REQUIRED
- First team to level 30 gets 10 extra points/ 2nd to 30 gets 7 extra points/ 3rd to 30 gets 5 extra points.
- 4 Points for first R4 Completed (With RXP given)
- 6 Points for first R6 Completed (With RXP given)
- 10 Points for first R10 Completed (With RXP given)


TREASURE HUNT! (screenshots required of the item being IN the chest if applicable)
There will be additional points awarded for acquiring certain items before any one else! (With repeats getting a lesser amount of points to still keep the incentive of hunting them!)
- 25 Points for First team to acquire Voice of the Master (5 Points for each team after)
- 5 Points for EACH (20 for the Set of 3) Seal of House Avithoul, Seal of House Dun'Robar, Seal of House Szind
- 15 Points for First Team to acquire all of the sister Mucks! Muckbane, Muck's Doom, Muck's Devastation (5 points for each team after)
- 5 Points for each of the following - Fish Stick, Frozen Fish Stick, Fried Fish Stick, Sword Fish, Frozen Sword Fish, Fried Sword Fish
- 10 Points for Homeless Cosplay set- Starter Rags, A Trash Can Lid?, Fish Stick (Or other Fish Weapon), Straw Hat
- 250 Points for Quiver of Alacrity (Memes and Dreams, but if you only get this you'll probably be first in the leaderboards!)
- 10 Points for Planar Gird (Dodge, Duck, Dip, Dive and Pick Traps)
- 15 Points for Chipmunk Funk (Have fun!)
- 10 Points for Mummified Bat (I promise it's just sleeping PETA)
- 10 Points for Necklace of Contemplation
- 10 Points for Visor of the Flesh Render Guards

I even asked if myself and my teammate could be included unofficially(no access to the rewards, no official posting of our score on the leaderboards) in the competition by being in the competitive guild and have yet to be confirmed, which based off the lack of response is likely a ”no”, that leads me to the deductive conclusion that this is likely just a big promotion to recruit players into particular discord channels and discord itself. There was already a big enough push back on discord when it started asking players for their phone numbers when SSG said that the new social media would be discord and not the official forums, personally i think its silly that a group that offers full availability to be transparent is being blocked out because someone is unwilling to become part of a voice channel app that is known as a high risk for spyware.


To conclude discord will not be able to prevent cheaters, and forcing all players including those that have a willing party member in discord to then also have sign up for discord is more about recruitment than embracing competition.

Should I point out that everyone has free will and able to withdraw from the race? They haven’t because they agreed with our conditions as you agree with conditions to use 3rd party applications.

Use a VPN.

I also informed you that you can run the race. You will not be included in the guild, but are free to play the game with the rule set. (Which btw isn’t locked behind discord as it’s posted on the official event forum post)

Stop trying to make a good thing for the community into your protest just because you don’t agree with the rules.

Nah already over it, keeping my six month badge ticking.

But I do keep my warning about about discord and its high risk of spyware, which even a VPN will not protect you from all aspects of, be aware and be safe, my previous link is informative and is worthy of cautious people taking a look at.

I withdrew because of the rule mandating discord. @The Narc2 is my team partner. So @Purrin a fellow server m8 me, Cant participate due to an inflexable rule set.
In the big picture if ONE team member has discord and provides proof of accomplishments what's the big deal? You've locked me out because of shortsightedness? Or just inflexability?
Lastly, if the low-lifes that will cheat, they'll be getting around relying on just discord for verfying info. Cheaters will cheat and will find a way.
Narc is NOT putting you or the event down, he even endorsed it until the rule snafu.
It should be a fun event, wish I was part of it.

If you are worried about cheating, just require every participant to stream to youtube and then provide links to the officiant to review. Doesn't even need to be public.

To answer why both members need to be in discord is because if we are checking validity of inventory/equipment there is no way for teamate A ( in discord ) to share teamate B's ( not in discord ) screen for viewing... I feel like that is very self explanatory. As for cheaters will cheat or find a way to, you are correct we will not be able to monitor every participant at all times and wouldn't want to because this is for fun. We are however doing the best we can within our limitations and monitoring over discord was the best solution we were able to accomplish. I am sorry that you are missing out due to these restrictions but I hope you both still have a wonderful day.

What you’re suggesting is actually more demanding of the runners than what we are asking of them. With the rules we have in place, it’ll be easy to gauge if someone cheats. That being said, the two individuals who are complaining about our rules (one of them tried to get the other to follow the rules and failed) are upset because we won’t bend them for one person. When the one rule they want us to bend would allow that individual a significantly greater chance to cheat (if they wanted to)

TL:DR - We’re not worried about cheaters with our current rule set and refuse to bend those rules for the two complaining.

Glad to see player events like this take place, and am interested in how it pans out.

Sad to see players who have already made their statement on not participating for whatever reasons continue to pollute the thread after their point has been made.

It is what it is unfortunately.

There will be a few streaming their runs on twitch Saturday morning. Keep an eye out if you want to tune in!
