The Lag is gone…

Still see some ship lag, but there were very few hiccups questing/raiding over the weekend.

MUCH better than before.

Definitely a huge improvement, but its too early to declare victory. The first round of fixes got us from completely unplayable to about ~500 player capacity. The increased server nodes got us to 600ish, and after the last update I've seen very low levels of lag even at 800+. We (thrane) haven't seen 1200+ players 5 days after a server reset yet though, which will be the real test.

I hope they keep making improvements to guarantee it remains lag free into the future as well.

Huge improvement for me and my groups this past week on Shadowdale. I ran with a bunch of PUGs during the weekday (mornings and evenings) doing quests, raids and wildernesses as well as Saturday afternoon and evening doing quests and Night Revels and experienced very little lag. So little that nobody mentioned lag once.

played between 6pm till 11pm nz time last night on shadowdale when i could
no idea how many were on but thats 1am - 6am est time, so cant of been many

plenty of stuttering and rubberbanding, couple of big freezes

to be honest guess due to country and playtime (also solo only) ive never really got the major lag issues everyone else did, as such i would say it is actually worse for me than it was.

We had 1160 on Shadowdale Sunday night and no lag.

Lag is not gone nope.

Did questing and raids past few days and still did have some hitching, slowness at times.

Tonight doing slayers and thunderholmewe had the typical gratuitous thunderholme lag, including some mob groups not spawning if you’re the first person onto the level until like 30 seconds later .

once you get rid of Thunderholme lag and boat lag and item swap lag and toon spawn in and out lag, then we can talk about lag being gone.

I haven’t seen Thrane really break into the 1,000’s. Does that server get that high regularly?

Did it improve or not? Yes, it did. Good work.
And yes it needs to stay that way or get even better so that we feel secure in that "Good work" statement.

Cheers SSG,
Titus

It's arguably better than Sarlona was - we get much less - and sometimes - no raid completion lag which was an issue on Sarlona.

The population was a bit lower last weekend compared to the previous weekend which makes comparisons tough. Let's see what it looks like at 1400+ on Shadowdale.

One way SSG can stress-test it to see how it performs with a higher population is give us an absolutely amazing weekend bonus.

To be fair its better than it was, however started with a pretty low bench mark. Not wanting this to sound negative, because its not intended that way, i am still at a loss to understand how we played with rocks, shrubs, hirelings, trees, bigby's hands etc etc, for 19 years on 32 bit servers, but jump across onto 64 bit servers and suddenly we have to remove rocks, trees, shrubs, bigby's hands and hirelings that arent in eyesight, to get the game to a playable state. Infrastructure updated, but overall aesthetics of the game dumbed down? But its more playable than it was, so i will have to take that (not that i care much about rocks etc). Now if we can just get the loot side of things sorted out, so that there is a least the slightest chance of something useful dropping, that would be amazing.

Yes, lag was much better on Thrane over the weekend but once in a while still a little stuttering, minor freezing. I hope they can improve it even more. Night revels really shouldnt impact the lag anywhere near what it used to back in the day of the old Marbar. I remember farming keys and there being soooo many toons in one area that it was like watching a constant slideshow. Thats why they changed it.
