The latest on game performance

Well I finally came full circle with Myosin over the past few weeks. Myosin was a 20 Monk the entire time between October 2024 (when the NPC pathing was severely damaged for months) and August 2025. But now Myosin is a 24 Druid so I guess I am considering the game playable again. I'm glad that things finally got better on the 64 bit servers. I wouldn't say "things are pristine" but "playable" is a much better place to be compared to how things were right after server transfers.

Solo-based gameplay update: (delayed report -- man's gotta sleep, eat, and otherwise live...)
Since the Wednesday downtime, esp. since the hotfix, I've seen RELATIVELY limited lag off-peak -- as compared to previous three weeks or so.
Shadowdale on-peak hours last night were playable, with occasional lag-spikes inside quests of up to 30 seconds or thereabouts.

So far today -- two sessions, one around 2AM and then most of my afternoon [about 2.5 hours connected playtime] -- Thrane has been comparatively stable, playable, and minimal lag noted.

For both servers, I am still experiencing five or more login "cycles" to get that playable connection.
[For clarity's sake: one login cycle = enter password to Launcher, select server in Launcher, first loading-wait, select character in client, second loading wait, then one of three states -- Connection Lost, un-playable session display before Session loss, OR playable character session... During the second state, the Inventory and Daily Dice may display yet no action taken is "real" / produces an effect notable after a playable selection is finally obtained.]

Will discontinue thread updates here {in THIS thread} unless something major is observed in-game.

Had one lag spike that lasted a few seconds. Running Lamordia Legendary missions on Shadowdale. The fact that I had to think a little hard about game gotcha's is a good thing! There were around 920-950 players online around 2:30 p.m. pacific time.

Will be playing later tonight! I'm optimistic?!? Nah... not quite yet. :sneaky:

P.S. Really enjoying the Lamordia missions (now that I've had a chance to properly dig into them...) Not a fan of some of the building interiors at times (seem overly simplistic and bland/sterile at times?), but that is not always the case.

Ran guild raids today at Noon EST, 10+ people in R1 DoV, FoM, Dryad and Hunt. No lag. Even the boss fight in Hunt. Might be one of the smoothest (lag free) runs we’ve ever had.

I had to jump early, but it looked like the guild kept going for another 90 minutes or so. The fact that we didn’t lag out two attempts in a row and call it after a raid and a half is a big step in the right direction.

Ransacked Strahd and ran 5 R1 THTH with max wraiths. No lag. Ranged were complaining about missing shots, but bear was hitting like a champ. Just play melee.

3 of us ran mabar stuff. We ran toons with combat pets each and a hireling each and we each summoned a summoned combat mob. Usually this leads to a lockup where every creature freezes, hirelings, pets, monsters, and we kill frozen monsters until some point when everything un freezes and it is normal fighting. This has not occurred at all this weekend. Everything seemed to work like it is supposed to.
We also never experienced any total lockups where we and our hirelings froze, but the monsters kept on a gettin' on.

I think it was closer to 65 years, 7 months, and 3 days, but who's counting.
You would think wrong..... in the 50s and 60s, turboprops were still flying the friendly sky's but I applaud your attempt to be the smartest guy on the forums....... for some reason you read what I wrote and assigned to me that I said from the invention of the airplane to landing on the moon.
When clearly I was speaking about the end of the propeller era and the beginning of the jet era

Meh. Say what you mean, I guess.

I've noticed that ship performance is still pretty dismal. Interior of ship is usually not complete (pretty barren) and takes time to pop in.

Across multiple characters, on all four servers, with and without guild membership, have been experiencing very little lag -- but HAVE been knocked completely out of active sessions three times in the last couple of week (both prior to and after yesterday's weekly maintenance).

I have the bug where you can move for 6-8 sec than freeze for 2-4. I get it out of nowhere. After 2 raids earlier, it started again. I tried re installing, no luck. Will try to play DDO again next week.

4:40 am central (sleepless night ☹️ ) on Monday Tuesday morning and I go to the airship to clean up from last night's questing. The eastern door on top deck won't activate, so I use the western door: It works. Trying to break down and sell loot, and a few minutes into that my toon starts rubber banding, unable to move toward a vendor. Sigh....the game IS better, so much so since we first moved to 64-bit but...work is still needed, especially with airships.
