The monk changes are nice, but if you want to shift the meta . . .

They did nerf INQ, I miss the old way I'd just 1 shot everything. Just spam tag target and things died, including bosses. Don't get me wrong, they are still good, just not what they once were. I miss my uber dps pew pew with my twin shooters.

And all the non-meta xbow builds will suffer from bad damage along with the less fun play of the slower reloads/longer pauses between attacks; because that's how the fallout rolls...
So whats the idea exactly? Overtune all player damage just so bad builds dont feel bad, add reaper 11-20 because the overtuning of damage made the game too easy for real builds, overtune all damage again because bad builds feel bad in the new setting, and repeat?

<sigh> Not all builds are bad just because they're not the meta. There's lots of builds that have been quite good that have been turned in junk over the years because of blanket nerfs to take out the extreme top end. There's nothing more fun <sarsasm> than a build that was doing just about right (or barely holding on) getting caught up because there were some setups that were over peforming. The most recent would be all the non-cold casters (and cold warlock cause warlock) that got caught up in caster nerfs.

The point remains exactly the same. Obviously they should target the nerfs as precisely as possible but there will always be "fallout" in the way you described.

Inquisitive was once nerfed, then it was brought back due to the crossbow/artificer changes. It's more absurd than it was before. I can clear R10 sagas solo because the firepower is incredible.

Naw. People keep saying stuff like "nerf xbow". They should be posting specific builds and the aspects of them that are overpeforming; because we all know that SSG loves the nuke over the scalpel. It's no different than "nerf caster" or "nerf melee" threads. Details and specifics matter.

Don't call for a crossbow nerf

Post a thoughtful and thorough analysis of why those specific crossbow builds are substantially outperforming other non meta builds.

Close the loophole, but don't just nuke the entire playstyle to bring the loophole into balance (as the devs usually do)

I think I've posted over a dozen separate ideas to nerf/buff casters long before they went ahead with r7+ and destiny changes. All of which were carefully thought out to avoid the fallout on lesser performing casters. It mostly just gets ignored. The dev's hyperbolic time chamber style development philosophy is to do all the work in secret then release it on lammania so the playerbase can do their QA while calling it "listening to feedback". Unless they change this philosophy, all we can do is hope their next dice roll is favourable.

I fully expect builds to get caught in the crossfire whenever work gets done; I also hate generalized "nerf X" threads.

I really doubt this monk change will change the meta.. or I would rather say, the would be meta since DDO players tend to follow their own ideas...

unnerf casters, buff melee instead give them some imbue-support.. not one melee tree is supporting imbues.... why?
