Was on R10 when I ran into it. Didn't have a flute so was just seeing what it was like there.

Just walk through the wall and door and you're in.

Somewhat of an aside:
You should be able to get ~494 durability from a golden mote on reaper with all personal XP bonuses (assuming VIP XP works this time) — got 472 without VIP.
It should be noted that it appears the global +50% is still active [on Cormyr], additive with personal bonus, and truncates separately, which is why a green mote on reaper is giving 10 with no XP bonus, but only 13 with +60% (voice + ship + elixir). I am not certain where the VIP fits into the equation and whether it also truncates separately or works at all.

- went VIP, the bonus is working this time. - well it appeared to work on normal Gold Mote, but not on reaper 🤷‍♂️ going to have to check some stuff more. figured out what it was, just had an extra bonus I did not notice. VIP does not work for Lutes

Difficulty shouldn't matter there. It just affects how much durability you gain (and how difficult it is.)
So far everything has a Legendary mode which is nice because you have to be in level range to enter the Mote area.

Unverified: Guildy says they found a note in belly of the beast in the acid. Dont have any more info, will check when I do that quest

Edit: I found nothing special in belly when I did it later. They may have been talking about a normal mote, but from how they were talking, I thought it was some special item.

Woo! All five motes found! Congrats and thanks everyone for your efforts in pulling this all together. I must sleep now, but will attempt to get some screen shots tomorrow to put a bow on this little project.

This was a lot of fun and was happy to be apart of it! Very cool little hunt in my opinion.

Though, there is also the question of... is there a difference between winters and summer? Collect all 10?

More details to come I suppose.

How does this work?

Is it only for the character who claimed the nickname, or for all characters on the account?

Do you need to have the lute equipped to use it?

And then does the ability disappear once you hand over the lute to get the cosmetic?

You get an item that you put on hotbar. Click it and you begin playing the music. Not online right now, but I believe it said BtC.

Assuming they are permanent and are kept after the event.
