Boh, if it's BTC, I'll pass. First, a Winter Lute can't be played on our mains. Second, my main doesn't need more TRs. And third, I'm not having another useless BTC item in my cache/inventory.

I think I would prefer it being converted into an activated cosmetic feat, if they can. They are neat to have.

PS: If you have a bard that get's bonus effects when singing songs, playing one of these sheet musics WILL activate said bonus effects, such as healing and restoration

If they're BTC though, that's a shame. The last thing I need is another BTC item taking up permanent space in my inventory/bank. That's doubly true if doing the Winter lutes on a new, throwaway toon just for the event.

Found the golden mote for the flight lute. It was in heroic Oghma's Song. We were on Reaper 2 if that makes any difference.

Please ass on my thanks for a good time and my praises for these awesome side optionals. It was really cool to see areas expanded like the new zones looked amazing. Really appreciated the little things.

And with that, I've cleaned up the original post to make it nice and more usable. Mentioning all those little details from the excellent questions asked.

The only outstanding question is whether or not there is a difference between Winter and Summer Lutes.. assuming no based on the dialogue, but if we could get confirmation that'd be great. Thanks again everyone!

Unverified: Guildy says they found a note in belly of the beast in the acid. Dont have any more info, will check when I do that quest

Just wanted to follow up on this one if you were able to confirm. I assume what your guildy saw was a Blue, Green or Purple mote and not a Golden one that had its own side quest?

There are posts in this thread from people who have successfully used Winter Lutes on the known Golden Motes, and you and I have both directly confirmed Summer Lutes work with them, so I think we can say for definite that we've found all the Motes that exist currently.

I was all summer, didn't track well if reports coming in where specifically winter. But will check that off the list. Thanks.

Two questions - sorry if already asked and answered...

(1) Are there particularly tough red named or such to fight with these golden motes i.e. be prepared...?

(2) Should I ensure I have the corresponding lute when I go find its golden mote? For example, I'm level 5 working on a winter flight lute - should I grab a novice lute and equip that instead before heading to Hijacked Haul? Is the lute durability bonus the same regardless but maybe I miss out on the (BtC) reward if I have a different lute equipped?

Note you can't bank the winter lute so it is "at risk" regardless
