The Ultimate Inquisitive Past Life Getter

I am a bit late to the Inquisitive party but seeing as i am honing in on Tripple Full Completionist on my main (186/201 lives) i was looking for a side project for toon #2

I normally play Warlock, Pally or DL on main (end build is Warlock) so wanted to base the next guy on something i have not played much ... so this format really appealed

Question is ... with the recent changes do you think this is still a viable path for past life farming?

Its unlikely that i get beyond the Iconic parts of the leveling process on a second toon (and it already has 21 PLS including 15 EPLS)

So this inquisitive build does not need to be top notch but is it still viable / fun?

it depends on how they mess up the with the nerf they think the inquisitive deserves.
Right now you can safely play it.
Future, I don't know, what i know is that if they crap over another build I think it will be the last time I play anything from this company for real.

Yes it is viable and fun. I am still using it and enjoying it. It isn't the meta though by any means or the fastest but it works and works well for what it is intended for.

May have missed it in the comments but during heroic leveling how do you use Rune Arms with only 1 level artificer?

Do you take a feat and then swap it out when you have Macrotechnic?

You don't.

It's not a feat you select, or can select. It's a feat granted at lvl 2 Arti.

Been using this for several 1-20s, works just fine without a runearm.

As others have mentioned an alternate option for heroic past lives is a 10x/6ranger/4artificer split, you give up evasion until SD at 23 but that's barely an inconvenience in heroics anyway.

I was eyeballing this last night (morninglord life coming up) and if you are taking the 4 arti to go 23 in battle engineer, there are only 6 points left - not enough to make 6 levels of rangers a viable choice (I don't think). Was thinking maybe go rogue there instead to grab the evasion, but then I got sleepy and gave up thinking about it.

I normally run ~23 BE until cap then switch to DWS at cap. 6 ranger also comes with a bunch of free feats which frees up your slots which is why I prefer it. (Although I haven't been running inquis for levelling lately). That said, the inquis tree is strong enough on its own, you could easily go 2 arti/18class or put in some rogue levels for evasion.

That is where I got stuck, looking at 4 levels of rangers over 6 or 7 levels of arti over 4 - didn't think about resetting the tree at cap - but then again, I don't stay at cap too long as I have lots of lives yet to go and miles to go before (then I fell asleep).

I'm wrapping up my second life and farming the recommended items for this build—can't wait to try it out. However, I'm not sure if this past life order is still efficient with the recent changes to TR experience. Power-wise, it makes sense, but in terms of time investment, it might be better to start with non-iconic heroic lives from the bottom of the list—the ones that offer the least power increase. Hopefully, by doing so, I won't end up shooting myself in the foot.
