As Stoner81 advised, putting points into Grim Baricade for survivability is a good thing. Here is some info https://ddowiki.com/page/Reaper_enhancements

Generally while leveling put 25-30 points into the defensive tree, then start putting points into whichever offensive tree you need.
eh not quite imo

you want to put 21 points for the extra 120 hp. but then go into either dps for rp and flat damage or caster tree for int bonus

Any suggestion for where to put reaper points? When I last played Reaper didn't exist.
I've put my first 5 points into Grim barricade for now since i figure tankiness is always good.
Yeah extra hp/mrr or prr/saves is a big benefit at early levels, though do consider for say 8 points in offensive tree you can get +6 RP which = 6% damage if you have no ranged power which fairly likely in early heroics) +1 tactics +1 to hit/dmg and 32 hp, that’s pretty good return vs dmg mitigation /saves and 74 hp and possibly extra +1 hp/level from con, usually solution to most issues in ddo is more dps for a dps build…

8 points in defensive tree gives 1st core = 10 hp, 5 prr or mrr, 2 con
= 74 hp+1 hp/lvl con bonus and 2-3pct dmg mitigation to either prr or mrr (just example based on going from 40 to 45 rating) which not as significant imho

In mid/later heroics the RP benefit trails off as you start to get it from other sources whereas light armored, ranged toons always have issues getting enough mrr (evasion helps you but not against single target spells like horrid wilting or rays) it costs some plat but might be worth swapping around mid heroics when you start getting t5 abilities

Staying at cap next chance you have and farming some rxp until you have 15-20 points is advisable to boost both defense and offense at lvl 4+ in subsequent lives

Hello, I haven't played much in a while and I'm interrested to try your build for a character I plan to do multiple lives, I like how it sounds. In the gear section, you mention the Smuggler's Cap for both Armor and Head slots, I assume the Armor slot would probably be the Smuggler's Gear instead. My next step now is to gather all that gear before I tr.
Thank you for sharing your build.

21 pts into defensive tree, grab Reaper Doubleshot from martial tree, grab extra reaperboost charges while going up as you please up the tank / ranged power lines, and can also grab the low hanging extra boost in the caster tree too just to have more doubleshot boosts (but dont go further in until you have your wanted goodies from ranged power/tank trees).

Reaper doubleshot boost is very good for multishooting weapons like inquisitive/repeater, especially when combined with other boosts like no holds barred and inexorable advance. Reaper doublestrike will be very potent as well for melees until you hit your 100% cap sustainably in endgame - key point being melees dont go above 100% ds, while doubleshot does go beyond 100% so it never loses its oomph for ranged builds.
