Things that make you go huh? Isle of Dread Edition.

I've been spending most of this year focused on grad school, so my DDO playtime has been pretty limited. Recently I've gotten back into a more regular schedule and have been farming Isle of Dread on Hard to finish a Dino Bone Ring and Dagger for one of my project characters.

On each run I hit the nine non-purple named rares while heading to the quests. Over roughly eighteen runs, Yasafar the Angry Ancestor has spawned a dozen times plus times, while most other rares have appeared 6-8 times. Daggermouth the Sabretooth Tiger, however, has only shown up 3-4 times. It has been a little shy I think.

Here's the odd part: Daggermouth's chest is the one I've managed to ransack.

Considering he's one of the least frequently encountered rares on my route, I'd have expected Yasafar or one of the more common rares to hit ransack first. It's not a big deal, but it definitely made me stop and go, "Huh?"

Has anyone else noticed a rare chest getting ransacked much faster than you'd expect based on how often the rare actually appears?

When i do runs i make the purple gabrauuulu part of it so i sack that out first.
Same. I never farmed them for particular items, but the purples are amazing for SXP. Takes about a month of weekly ransacks (couple hours a week) to take a weapon from 0->210K sxp (assuming you have multiple chars on 2+ accounts).

Force-spawn the dino (tarpit tele). Hit demon. Maybe check dragon. Rougly 2.3 chests per cycle ending with 2 chests ransacked. I'll check and kill the Water Ele rare enroute to demon (for mats), but I never bother with the other non-purple rares -- waste of time, significantly reduces time per item pulled as the regular ones don't guarantee a drop.
