If true, does it change the point?Data miners deciphered loot drop tables long ago. It's how I know the drop rate of getting a specific Shattered Device rare is 0.04% compared to 0.075% for a specific Dreadbringer rare. The same people shared the drop rate of Nebula Fragments when they were released.
Honestly not a bad idea. I’d be all for thisWhy are golden age weapons a tolerable rare? Because you just have to pull any 2 rares, and can turn them into the one you want.
Just expand that system. Pull any 2 rares, and turn them in for the one you want.
And thank goodness there is someone figuring that out. But they shouldn't have to.Data miners deciphered loot drop tables long ago. Those are wrong assumptions about peoples motivations.odds are not guarantees...every time you roll, you have a chance to fail...you could perpetually fail and that wouldn't prove you didn't have odds, even potentially favorable odds on every roll.
yes some of the loot is frustrating to farm, but if the only way you are going to enjoy ddo is by getting every piece of gear you want, I would strongly suggest a new hobby?
when you know the odds are so low...why would you spend shards rerolling? why not put together a gearset that avoids rare loot items? If true, does it change the point?
since your motivations are rare loot items...you embrace the risks knowing the chances of obtaining them are lowThose are wrong assumptions about peoples motivations.
but those were posted somewhere on the DDO forums maybe 12 months ago. and everyone had a massive argument about them back thenHow would you do that if you didn't know which were rare without the people hacking their code?
But hey... at least you're starting to ask sensible questions about this loot system you're just finding out about! Progress!
I feel like your other forum that you're switching the tab is on like Nietzschean Free Will and you're blending them.since your motivations are rare loot items...you embrace the risks knowing the chances of obtaining them are low
This is why farming / sharing for loot is stupid on so many levels.A friend farmed an item out of MD. He spent over a thousand shards on rerolls before he finally got it.
He gave his build gear list to another friend who wanted to use the same build.
The other friend went to farm the same item and got it on his 3rd roll.
I have personally been farming some gloves, and so far I've spent 800 shards on rerolls. Most times I invest 45 or 60 shards on rerolls and get nothing in return. Nothing.
A pack of 1,000 shards costs 5,395 ddo points. Unless you already have 400 DDO points, you can't get 5395 in the $35 package. You have to spend $60.
Listen. This is tantamount to robbery. It's like a damn slot machine. You spend real money and there's no guarantee you'll get anything at all except fleeced for your money.
I know some will say "just don't use rerolls". Nonetheless, the option is there. It's not fair, likely illegal, and hella exploitative.
At the least, we should be guaranteed a named item for a reroll. Even if it's not the one we want. But walking away empty handed after spending so much money for one item is not ok. Then watching someone get it basically for free after you spent a fortune is just disrespectful.
This is not a casino. It's a video game.
what assumptions did i make? Those are wrong assumptions about peoples motivations.
