So many people thought Elvis could not really play the guitar. Well, he really could, and BB King and Elvis jammed many a night on their guitars. BB stated that Elvis knew how to play more blues songs than most of the musicians he knew.
Elvis used his teenage years and his 20s to learn what young people wanted to hear during the 50s youth revolution. He blended gospel and the blues and rockabilly Elvis revolutionized the guitar in Rock and Roll, and Jimi Hendrix and many other players were heavily inspired by him.
He'd master the art of song arrangements as he merged genres to find a unique sound that young people wanted -- He was a critically acclaimed Arranger.
Here is Elvis showing off his chops live. Just playing rythym here but he's playing with immense soul.
The dude just bled SWAG.
