Ambrosia was the same era.

Mid-70s, my first amusement park visit was Worlds of Fun. Forum Amphitheater was part of the park and Ambrosia was playing that evening. We weren't there for the concert, but could hear them playing. So while they weren't technically my "first concert", they were the first ones I heard. (y)

This is so cool thanks for sharing that.

i raise you

That was a VERY powerful moment for Rock music in an era when Rock as we knew it in the 70s was dying before our eyes.
Rock music was the very first music genre that was NOT built on race, it was built by and for YOUTH IDENTITY, of all races and creeds. U2 knew what they were doing here., Hugely inspired by Elvis, the 1st music & social youth icon/rebel. Elvis broke race barriers and risked his life and career doing just that. And so did Bono and U2.

I raise you to one of the first protest songs...

Elvis Presley
IF I CAN DREAM
Tribute to those in the Civil Rights Movement of that era (1960s.)

Greatness. The whole event. I believe if Elvis had lived into the 80s, that he would have LOVED to be on that stage with all those greats. He would have needed to fire Dr Nick and Tom Parker and take aone year hiatus just to rest and get to see REAL doctors, including specialist in reach of his ailings. Private doctors killed the tho best selling music artists in history EP and MJ.

if I could BARF/RALF/VOMIT I WOULD. But not before play Hendrix. OMG
That's a bit high strung, don't you think Roper?

"Without a song, the day would never end; without a song, a man ain't got a friend; without a song, the road would never bend, without a song', So I keep singing a song."-- Elvis Presley

Every song ever written may save a life someday. Whether its the musician or the listener. That's the way I look at music. If I don't like a song, I don't play it again. It's just that simple, to me.
