The Grand Ole Opry. Before my time for sure but as a musician I have to respect their musicality especially their amazing finger pickin' no matter their string instrument of choice... ... once I hear that bluegrass sound.

But what I also hear makes me a tad bit thirsty!! I somehow have the feeling Porter Wagoner and Grandpa Jones weren't singing about the soda pop, but something way stronger, lol!

The song tells a dark, medieval tale about the brutal realities of the feudal class system and the desperation of the oppressed. It follows the story of an exhausted thrall (a serf or slave) who works endlessly on Lord Lager's farm for nothing more than scraps of food. When the cruel lord forcefully takes the thrall's daughter as his concubine, the thrall leaves his plow to confront him.

Translation:

A man has worked on lord Lager's farm for summer and winter, year by year.
Tell me, who's mourning for you now? For labour and hardship under grey sky he merely receives his bread as payment.
Tell me, who's mourning for you now?

So the message swiftly comes: "Our lord takes your daughter!" Tell me, who's mourning for you now? And the thrall through the doorway stepped, he left the plough by the field. Tell me, who's mourning for you now? "Lord Lager, now hear my words, you have made my daughter your *****,

Tell me: who now listens to you?" And Lager said in anger: "You are not careful with your thrall-blood. Tell me: who now listens to you?" Neither ale nor wine intended for you, nor right to own, but waste-food, rusk, rind. Neither ale nor wine intended for you, nor right to own, but waste-food, rusk, rind.

The thrall did not react, before his throat was cut. Tell me: who would care for you? "This is enough payment for today and the daughter I take when I wish to. Tell me: who would care for you?" "Come let me show you my right to comfort you in any way. Tell me, who's mourning for you now?" "Oh thanks!" he said, with tender voice and thrust the knife in his chest. Tell me, who's mourning for you now?"

As we mourn the loss of the legendary Dolly Parton, here is a rare memory from her 1990 vacation to Ireland. While visiting former Kerry footballer Páidí Ó Sé’s pub in Dún Chaoin, County Kerry, Dolly made an impromptu appearance on stage.

She entertained the locals by performing her classic song "Coat of Many Colors," accompanied by Irish musicians Steve Cooney on guitar and Seamus Begley.
