Kinda feel it's only fair we get like an extra week of the lanterns event to finish stuff given Cormyr was down for extended periods a few times

I haven't decided what I will make my home server and move my guild to. If it remains VIP only I will likely pick one of the others then decide if the VIP server offers anything to keep the characters there that I already have there.
why would anyone move their guild? just create a new one. you can gofundme by asking members to contribute to the ship's costs. after that you can decide which server to play on.

besides with the current guild bonus offer this weekend seems a great opportunity to buildup guildxp on a new server

Guild bonuses max out at 140, even with Death Smile, which advances as quickly as possible, that takes a few months. Guild transfer is an important requirement for the new servers.

Today is your final day of free access to Cormyr! After tomorrow's downtime the world will remain a VIP-access server, with the Lanterns in the Mists event over. We will have more to say about Cormyr later as we begin to announce our upcoming 64-bit server plans.
Why would you turn the Event off BEFORE a holiday weekend. While the Holiday is not universally celebrated I would assume that there would be an opportunity for a a fair amount of players to take part in one last weekend. To me it seems like poor planning.

0 LFMs and 15 people online; what does that tell you. Turning of VIP, thank you.

I have a feeling the hardcore servers would have been ghost towns as well, had they been left up after the events were over.

Why do you expect different here?

Or did people complain every single hardcore season ?

For the same reasoning that they didn't extend the durability bonus after 1-1/2 days of down time during the previous holiday weekend?

Or giving feedback on what to do with partially-filled lanterns?

Pretty sure this was just a test-event, but seemingly like an event they just turned on then wandered off to do other stuff.

I still do not see the logic in making any kind of exclusive server on a game that needs more players and not less.

Because its a test server. Im pretty sure when they announce thr US and Europe servers, Cormyr wont be one of them.

quick cormyr feedback:
I wrapped up the Lanterns in the Mist event in the last month it was active and player numbers were at 400 online most of the time.
i did a full 5k favor run and filled 3 lanterns and did not experience ANY lag while playing from central EU (germany). i did not expect the new 64bit servers to run as smoothly but it really brought back joy into the game for me - its night and day to other servers i have played on, especially hardcore and argonessen (my home server)

that raises the question: do we really need a EU server?? supposedly the new location of the server should bring players in the EU a way higher ping, but i didn't encounter anything high-ping related at all, it ran better than the supposedly better connected 32bit servers/HC i've experienced in the past. and if it was possible to not choose to leave behind all the people i have played with in the past 15 years for the sake of server stability, i'd definitively choose to do so
please look into the need of another server location

If they are offering servers in your zone say "YES !!". WoW putting servers in Australia was huge. We went from 250ms to 300ms to 10ms to 20ms.

The game just became massively better.

It was also a lot of fun to see all the Americans who had been in the "Australian" Battlegroup complain about pings after mocking non-Americans for years about how "its not ping, you need to get good"...

well. i was saying if ping is good with servers located in the US, maybe there is no need for a server in the EU.
that just splits the community and we have already been playing on US servers for all those years, why change it now? the latency is not an issue on cormyr it works fine, and since lag is the biggest aspect of having a EU based server i doubt that there is an actual need for it. the lag problem seems to be solved with 64bit systems, even if they are located in the US

Ping isnt good though its about 50ms worse than the 32bit servers which were already ~100ms ie latency is worse even if lag is better

to be clear, i am running on cormyr with 165ms. it doesn't feel bad at all
people shouldn't watch at numbers so much. this is not a game that is heavily reliant on a low ping

Having non-VIPs join temporarily to be doomed to go VIP or go bust was a textbook Human Cent-iPad move on SSGs part.
