Why are you still firewalling this item after all these years? It's just seems weird and mercenary especially after all the free giveaways of other previously firewalled content. Then again I guess it's the same with the hearts. Just run devil assault until u pass out from and then alt f4 forever.

Kipling Vranch and Peta Flashpin in market place sell it for 8 astrals (this is cheap if you already trade with astrals).
It sometimes appear on platinum auction house.
You can also use /trade and lfm with high chance that someone will sell it for platinum, exchange or just give it to you.

There are a lot of valid things to complain about in DDO and the design decisions that have been made, but I don't see this as one of them.
There are multiple in-game sources for acquiring the augment (https://ddowiki.com/page/Item:Topaz_of_Feather_Falling):
You can get them for 8 astral shards from NPCs.
You can get them semi-randomly by turning in crafting mats to one of the NPCs.
You can get them via trade-in with Lahar for 20 Tokens of the Twelve.
There are also many sources of feather falling in the game on via a wide variety of named items and RNG drops with feather falling on them. If I'm not mistaken, the feather falling augs even drop randomly in chests.
Last, but not least, if you personally just *really* have to have one but can't be bothered to acquire it via one of them aforementioned in-game methods for some reason, just roll up a new temp toon and zerg to 200 favor for the 50 DDO points to buy it from the store.

Get those for astral shards, crafting mats or tokens of the twelve.
You eventually end up with more tokens than you know what to do with, but I can understand how this isn't the case for many people.
For the people without the patience, 8 shards is a bit under $0.30 depending on how you purchase them.

This is how I get them (and several other useful augments):
Run following quests on epic elite (works fine with a lvl 30+ 2nd life halfling pure paladin):
More quests could be added.
The halfling abused for this has only basic lvl20 cannith-crafted gear, enhancement points mainly in Sacred Defender (Knight Of The Chalice only to get greatswords as favoured weapons), destiny points in Divine Crusader and Unyielding Sentinel. So lots of room for improvement, but it works.
Run following quests on epic elite (works fine with a lvl 30+ 2nd life halfling pure paladin):
- all 4 quests of Sentinels Of Stormreach
- all 4 quests of Phiarlian Carnival
- Tharashk Arena and The Prisoner from Vault of Night
More quests could be added.

2. This is a bit dramatic lol. This is way too specific a request to be folded into the “we’ve already gotten so much free stuff, why not this?” argument, which itself is… weak. But. I get it - it can be a pain to farm Devil’s Assault for 20 tokens.
3. Please don’t farm Devil’s Assault for 20 tokens. Run Bargain of Blood on Epic Elite, put up an lfm saying you need tokens and many people will join. You will genuinely have 20 tokens in less time than it takes to do a single Devil’s Assault run.
Of all the items that are hard to get in this game… this isn’t really one of them

I think astral shards are easier to earn than people realize.
Voodu talks about this on his streams and likely has videos available on youtube. There are alot of other things I am able to sell that he doesn't mention. Getting AS to buy augments is super easy. There are many people that don't have time but have discretionary money that buy things - even things you think nobody would buy.
I would also think people would trade.
If you don't like dealing with AS/trading you can earn points in game and buy from the store. The low levels augments are reasonably priced and sometimes go on deep discount - I've seen up to 75% off.

- dual slot items for crafting which you can search and buy on platinum auction house (if you are short on platinum, then you can use bids, but keep watching in last minutes)
- go to sands and farm 625 antique tokens (gnoll village has many enemies in one place and 3 possible bosses with chests that always have some of it)
- wait for halloween event to farm keys or ingredients (higher prices are in first days)
If you do not have any astral shards to set auctions, then buy your first 10 in store.
This is great investment and always have 10 to keep maximum of 10 items on sale to increase chance of selling something (or 20 if you are vip).

I should probably spend more time at cap but I'm so hard on the TR train that I spend my tokens on hearts almost as soon as I get over 20. Its like living paycheck to paycheck.

Personally, this item is so common that it should be relegated to being a Diamond, and thus have a greater number of slotting options.
