Transfer News

In the Friday's at Four segment on Feb 6 Tolero mentioned that they were hoping to get 64 bit transfers up for Cormyr to Moonsea in the next month or two. This will definitely reduce the population even more and will make LFG even worse than it currently is now. I have a couple toons with multiple lives on Cormyr that I had played alot when all the crazy lag was happening on the other 64 bit servers. So to continue playing these toons I am considering transferring to Moonsea if that is the only option even though my ping will go from 33 to 160. Any thoughts?

It's been stated multiple times that transfers between 64-bit worlds will be coming on a rotating schedule. So transfers from Cormyr to Shadowdale and Thrane will be coming as well. The reason why Tolero mentioned Moonsea in specific is because it's going to require additional work that is not needed for US-based 64-bit server transfers.

You do not *have* to transfer to Moonsea. If you want to transfer there, you can, or you can choose to wait until the rotation comes around for the other 64-bit worlds. When the timing for all this will happen is not currently announced, but once it is, I'm sure SSG will say something.

When Cormyr started I started a new main, current main is on Shadowdale. I am left unsure where to land once 64 to 64 is available. More lfms on Shadowdale but more accommodating characters on Cormyr.

Regardless when they open transfers Cormyr most likely will become a sparsely populated server

What hours do you usually play? Moonsea only has like 10-20% more players than Cormyr overall. And the server population peaks around 3PM US Eastern time. US servers usually peak around 9 PM US Eastern. If you usually play after work hours in the US, Moonsea has very few people active at that time. In my opinion you should play on which ever server you have the most friends :p I don't think Cormyr will be a ghost town after the transfer window, but who knows.

It's only fair the EU players from Cormyr get a chaance to transfer to the new EU server. I doubt a US player will benefit that much because of the player activity on the server due to timezone difference. You'll get very unhappy with ping 160 too... So better just wait and move to Shadowdale or Thrane if Cormyr isn't worth it anymore.

If talking about pings, this was put together during the overall move - always useful to revisit if people are concerned.

And come to Shadowdale... :)
