TWF build for End Game

1.5% . . . and it's more difficult to gear for and you have to stretch your stat point more.

Go DEX.

I'm an idiot, I'm still STR.
IoD gear hands Dex to a tempest. But for STR you kinda gotta want it and gear for it atm; which can be a PITA. Next ExPack could change that... who knows.
@Teh_Troll isnt an idiot, just ornery...and Italian. But not French...(then again, I have seen him with a bow in his hand from time-to-time:confused:)

100% Scimmies. Daggers on a tempest = crapola
If Daggers, go Rogue VKF.
If STR Tempest, go LS
If Sexy Dexy Tempest, go scimmie
This is the way.

Only Tempest splash I know is 15Pal/5Rng...which is not a splash. If you go more than 5 levels of Ranger Tempest, you go pure all the way for the Cap. Anything less is crapola. Splashing a Tempest is self-mutilation; which is frowned upon in western cultures. I will personally point and laugh at you for doing so.
Now...if you decide to go ranged, this conversation is done...but I will continue to point and laugh.
And yes, take 13pts in HW for the double-dip Dex damage. (43T/24DWS/13HW)

I've been going over this repeatedly just to make sure since I'm confused:

Longswords: 17x4 (requires 1 feat)
Kukri 15x3
Scimitar 15x3
Dagger 16x3

So, actually, I was thinking Kukris, not daggers.

As Thulsadoom mentioned. He thinks 40 pts Tempest, 41 pts Vistani would be best.

Ok, So i think I might go Str instead of Dex. My Dex at Cap would still give me about 22 dodge. So that is 30+22+6 from Quick Cutter = 58% dodge, still helpful. I will be able to Stunning Blow and Trip 3 targets compared to no CC if i were a dex build.

I was also thinking of picking up 3 Dragonlord for both the Str Trance and the Dragon's Roar which would be my first line of CC before Stunning Blow and Trip.
That would leave me with 17 Ranger 3 Dragonlord. I was thinking I could splash a bit more from that point.
2 barb can give Movespeed and Blood tribute.1 Bard can give 4 Str from Skaldic Rage and some Attack. Skaldic Rage from Bard also gives Healing charges for Fury t4 Unquenchable Thirst

Now I assume you are just passing thru tempest for the PL and will TR at 20. And all this conjecture is pointless. Enjoy your canem stercore vistani tempest.

APs are tight on a vistani build - T5 Tempest is very expensive - consider going fvs/cleric for a cheap trance over DL

I think 2 Druid is even more viable than Tempest Capstone. You get 20% uncapped dodge with 33% uptime and beguile - -2% attack speed debuff upto 50% total.

Tempest Capstone gives:
10% Doublestrike - Possibly the build will already be maxed.
10 Melee Power - Vistani gives 20 Melee Power and 5% attack speed.
10 PRR - Can be obtained in plenty of places.
10 MRR - Will already be capped at 130
4 Dex - Vistani gets +2 to all abilities

All these can be obtained from other sources, but 20% dodge isn't.

You're all over the place kid. My statement still stands. But if I see you on Orien I'll offer my salutations .../point .../laugh.
Enjoy your canem stercore abomination tempest.

You have at most 82 AP - 41 points in vistani leaves 41 - if you put 37 ish into tempest you only have 4ap to play with at most so you are really looking at T1 abilities only.

i think 81 is max. I was considering the suggestion of the guy earlier on this thread who said he played more than 30 ranger/tempest lives. He said he thinks that is the strongest split.

Its 82 (80 base+2 Universal Tomes)
You want a capstone (im assuming this is for an Iconic as 1-20 doesnt matter) Vistani and Tempest are good choices 41/40 is probably great for levelling but if you want to do some end game stuff like reaper first times then there are better splits.

Of course:)...Aasimar Sexy Dexy pure Tempest Thot (scimmies)
Ok, I am open to playing Pure. I was just concerned that it was lacking CC.

how would you compare it to Dragonlord for soloing R7?
What are your destinies?
You take Dire Charge for CC? And then T5 Fury I assume has the best synergy, and then Great Leveler for more CC?

This is the way.

I followed Stratiotis' advice for a pure 20 Dex Scimi Wood Elf ranger I ran earlier this year for my Dark Hunter PLs and it was really good.

I didn't even bother min/maxing the gearset since it was just for some Dark Hunter PLs. I was just using whatever gearset I could cobble together from the TR cache (mostly Sharn and Feywild gear) and it still steamrolled in high reaper.

As a bonus, it had auto-spot trapping from Wood Elf.

Solos legacy R7 content just fine (not CR36 content).
18Aas/43T/26DWS/13HW
34LD(T5 w/ mantle), 26FotW, 15SD.
5 pc IoD, 3pc Stalker, Cunning Impact, Truthful Blow
No DC, No CC, Quick Cutter line up...my cc is dead mobs...dead mob can't attack or move or cast.
It's all about controlling the field. Ban ranged from joining your party. The lil' s4!ts ruin tempests ability to be effective.
