i rolled up a 20 wild mage (41 fire savant for capstone and 36 or whatever in wild mage for tier 5 stuff), ran some feywild on R2 and i never got (or maybe never noticed) the 4 second 50% spell failure. is it bugged? are the chances low? has anyone noticed it? it sounds like a really bad penalty, but like i said either it didn't proc for me (as a neutral or bad/very bad switched to neutral) or was so short i didn't notice it. i did notice the butterfliesNeutral:
Squirrel! - You conjure a pack of chittering squirrels! These can confuse nearby enemies (50% chance, no save) but they also really annoy the caster making it difficulty to cast spells for 4 seconds (50% spell failure chance)
i wonder if it will be more like shadowfell, where the zone is either on or off. we will see i guess. From what I understand the area's (maybe not all) are avoidable too. So they kinda act like traps I guess.
People on forums tend to grossly overreact to things. The effect confuses enemies (so they are likely wasting at least 50% of the next 4 seconds by not attacking your party) and you have a 50% chance of also wasting your time by casting spells. It is, in fact, pretty neutral. People on this forum, however, act like they will be guaranteed soul stones, as if we have not all jumped around for 4 seconds at one time or another while dodging enemies.i rolled up a 20 wild mage (41 fire savant for capstone and 36 or whatever in wild mage for tier 5 stuff), ran some feywild on R2 and i never got (or maybe never noticed) the 4 second 50% spell failure. is it bugged? are the chances low? has anyone noticed it? it sounds like a really bad penalty, but like i said either it didn't proc for me (as a neutral or bad/very bad switched to neutral) or was so short i didn't notice it. i did notice the butterflies
