I can't speak to your impressions, but your lack of fundamental understanding of game mechanics makes your understanding of how they affect the servers' ability to implement them suspect, to say the least.I'm under the impression they're both in use on any given toon, assuming you have both.
I've been playing for a long time. I don't keep up with changes -- never saw the 4th shot.
...as to the rest of my post? **We're @ U70
- Doublestrike and Doubleshot will no longer apply a full subsequent "attack" as part of your attack chain. Instead, when a player Doublestrikes or Doubleshots the game will instead multiply the base amount of damage dealt (first number and sneak attack) by the amount of Doublestrikes or Doubleshots generated. This means that a player who deals an average of 100 damage on their first hit will now deal 200, or 300 damage, or however many Doublestrikes or Doubleshots multiplied by their base damage, when their Doublestrikes or Doubleshots go off.
- When a Doublestrike or Doubleshot happens, you'll see an icon of two swords next to your damage in the floaty text, similar to how Point Blank Shot provides its feedback.
- Abilities that apply additional ranged projectiles (Shuriken Expertise and Advanced Ninja Training) no longer apply multiple hits or projectiles. Instead, just as if they had been purely Doubleshot scalars, they will simply be additional chances to Doubleshot.
- Effects that trigger on-hit will also have their damage multiplied comparatively. This means that if you deal 10 Law damage on each hit, on a Doublestrike, it will deal 20.
- Repeating Crossbows and the Dual Crossbow style still fire 3 or 2 full projectiles (so you'll still see 3 numbers or 2 numbers, respectively) and are still affected by their Doubleshot penalties of 66% and 50%, respectively.
The change reduces procs YW
You can take double-shot as an artificer, right?
**My understanding of the servers is nil since I have no idea about their hardware. Procs take recources, period. Every time.
If that was the reason (meaning procs) the every cleave and every AOE spell would also need to be nerfed for the sake of lag.

Mechanic Tree could use a boost in damage as well. There is no Double shot in the Tree as wellWhat about Mechanic? Yeah I know it's basically a meme tree at this point, but the Rogue Mechanic tree gives you proficiency with repeating crossbows in cores 3 and 4. Shouldn't their activated attacks receive compensation for this change? If they do, it's going to impact the balance of the other Mechanic builds as well. This tree has been left behind so many times throughout all the ranged changes I'm pretty sure at this point you guys have forgotten that it exists.
What about every other ranged attack in the game?
You can just take Exotic Weapon Proficiency for repeating crossbows, so every class can make use of them, not just Artificer. Similarly, every class can take Inquisitive, and active abilities that just specify that they are ranged attacks work with Dual Shooting. Should these other abilities receive buffs? If they do not, then they become relatively worse compared to the abilities that receive buffs here when used with Dual Shooting or Repeating Crossbows.
YES ADJUST MECHANIC TREE CORES:Is there any chance Great Crossbow and Mechanic could be brought up to speed? Move Expert Builder to core 4, replace Time Bomb with an alchemical or ballista-themed Endless Fusilade, and add Improved Archer Focus to T5 Rapid Fire. Maybe also allow the extra threat and/or multi from Point Blank Shot and Combat Archer to apply to Great Crossbows as well?
I love that you dont feel Like buffing the worst part of the mechanic tree the capstoneMechanic Tree could use a boost in damage as well. There is no Double shot in the Tree as well
Wracking Strike: Melee Attack: Deals +10% Damage.
Leg Shot: Ranged Attack: Deals +20% Damage.
YES ADJUST MECHANIC TREE: 50% Damage instead of 10-20%
YES ADJUST MECHANIC TREE CORES:
1. Arbalester: 5% Doubleshot.
2. Tanglefoot: 5% Doubleshot.
3. Targeting Sights: +1 Competence bonus to Critical Threat Range. 5% Doubleshot.
4. Improved Detection: +1 Competence Bonus to Critical Multiplier with bows, crossbows & thrown weapons.
5. Expert Builder: +1(W). 5% Doubleshot.
Devs need to fix Repeater build not just for Artificers but Mechanic Tree also.
You boosted to 50% Damage only to Artificers and left others in a neglected state.
- Shatter Defenses' damage changes to +10/30/50%
- Thunder-Shock Weapon's damage changes to +50%
I figured I'd leave that for more to chime in!I love that you dont feel Like buffing the worst part of the mechanic tree the capstone![]()
I've been enjoying warlock, but don't say it too loud or they'll get nerfed to **** too.Played an pure artificer life all the way through. With all the AoE attacks.
My 1 word review: Miserable.
Way less fun than before.
I had planned on playing my 2ndary character through all the racial lives as an artificer, got a great set of kit by and large. But it's not really fun. I think I will switch it all around and play as a warlock many times instead.
Yeah warlock or alchemist for the win on power zerging past lives.I've been enjoying warlock, but don't say it too loud or they'll get nerfed to **** too.
I heard that multivial spells and any quickened spell are the main reason of the lagAlchemist is fun, I used to take an XBow with rapid shot, reload feats for the low levels and spec them out with fred.

its only a nerf in heroic and early epics, for end game is actually a buffHey, I noticed the nerf to repeaters and Inqis came out super quickly after it was announced, but fixing the doubleshot (not being) granted from Hit the Streets, which should have been pretty easy to get into 70.1 didn't make it.
so it's only a nerf in 95% of the content people actually play. Also doesn't change the fact that SSG is just as happy as Turbine was to rush out a "fix" that makes the game less fun, while things that make the game more fun (or at least reduce the impact of the fun-stealing changes) get slow rolled or forgotten entirely.its only a nerf in heroic and early epics, for end game is actually a buff
I thought the problem was that it doesnt give DS even tho it should and not that the tooltip is wrongI'll be necroing this thread in 6 months when SSG "fixes" the incorrect tooltip on Hit the Streets by removing the text about it granting doubleshot.
It would seem you failed at your Sense Motive check.I thought the problem was that it doesnt give DS even tho it should and not that the tooltip is wrong
