Pros
- very high single target dps with boosts
- safer as its a ranged character
- can autospot traps
- 500+ RP boosted with ~160% DS boosted
- good enough to hit for endgame
- 105% fort bypass which is needee for MD
- 24 imbue dice
- can get 20% comp hp without sacrificing comp threat range (thus its tankier for a low life ranged toon)
- doesnt need yugo/rem pots to perform, tho they do help
- 2 aoe attacks for questing
- not too many buttons
- easy to play
- decent defenses (~200 prr, ~130 mrr)
- can get the 80 int rune in threats
- gearset is flexible with rare items
- can kill worm solo in ~70 seconds
- doesnt need a double gem
- has aoe trip which... sometimes works, see below
- has some self healing with repair critical damage
- has ICE immunities
- great to bring to any raid
- has poison immunity strip for imbue
- is super duper awesome with all past lives (this build doesnt need any, just the tomes, the past lives in the build are what I have, not what you need)
Cons
- having played both this and inquisitive i can tell you inquisitive is probably better, i just am playing repeater and dont want to TR
- has to be a gnome for the build to make any sense. if you want more dps with eladrin or aasimar or something, just play inquis. this build is for comp hp only
- self heals in reaper kinda suck since the build doesnt get reconstruct
- this is gonna be a shocker, but the gearset is cancer to farm (i know, crazy)
- needs both an undying age repeater and a md rare aug to be truely powerful (more on the augs later)
- needs tomes, but if you are playing at endgame without tomes, what are you doing
- soloing can be painful with repeater long animation and long cd of aoe attacks
- needs a sentient swap with deadly rain for boosting damage
- is not inquisitive so cant get the free 50 ranged power from through the mists
- needs bone farm
- alchemist buffs have short duration, rebuff often
- defense is no where near tanky without past lives. do not expect to solo mid high reaper on a low life
- in raids it can pull aggro with -130% threat reduction. it isnt too big of a problem because you have trouble keeping aggro, but just be aware (yes, thats how much damage it does)
- single target poison immunity strip
- is not razorclaw
- reaper points are highly recommended
- doesnt get any dashes
- you need to come up with some sort of snarky remark when people ask you for deadly as you dont have it and cant have it
Why This Split?
this split (afaik) is the current best repeater split (if somebody who knows what they are talking about has a better split, i would love to hear it). 12 artificer gives you battle engineer t5/core 4 and all the goodies there as well as the expanded clip feat at level 21 for the 33% DS. 6 alchemist gets you more DS, imbue dice, prr, and a poison immunity strip in VC as well as nice buff spells. 2 rouge gets you evasion in heroics, more skills, and the 3 imbue dice from assassin. the assassin imbue is the best imbue in the game you can use, so 6 alch is critical for the immunity strip as many monsters are immune to poison.Notes
- yeah i know I usually write more, but this build is pretty self explanatory, no weird interactions, no benefitting bugs, its basically point a pew pew
- use tumbles to gain the 40 RP while boosting to get giga deeps
- use deadly rain swap before activating fusilade
- the gearset uses perfect silence and a MD imbuement augment. these are interchangable, so if you have a solar SA dice augment you can use the imbued infusion set augs instead
- the DC on the BE active attacks is ~100 which is kinda low, not much i can do about that on a low lifer. the trip usually works and the sunder works on bosses on the second shot because improved sunder reduces mobs fort saves by -3, stacks 5 times
- this build needs true seeing scrolls and a deathward clicky for soloing
- i highly recommend rem/yugo pot cuz free stats, but it is not mandatory
- i have cursed all my items and have gotten a few lucky ones, but nothing too life changing. maybe you get more lucky than me
- if you have racial completionist, take points in VKF for the 5% DS and the rest of the points in inquis for the extra to hit and imbue die
- use the summoned bolt from the hallowed splinter
