Here are the release notes for our Lamannia Preview, Tuesday, May 20th, 2025. These notes are not final, are incomplete, and will be updated over time.
Lamannia opens starting today at 5pm, and the preview continues until 5:00pm Eastern (-4 GMT) on Thursday, May 22nd.


Of Special Note:

Other changes

  • The Precise Shot feat now also passively increases the ability score modifier to damage of Longbows and Shortbows by 50%.
  • Adjusted the HIrelings Teal, Darling and Rana to be more performant when moving through dungeons.
  • Monsters under a fear effect will no longer run quite so far away, and engage in a more run in circles behavior.
  • Cosmetic Toggle feats now have their own feat category called cosmetics
  • All perma death cosmetic toggles granted by mortality (eyes, feet, wings, etc) now bestow a permanent feat on the player that remains through reincarnation. Players who currently have the temporary feats can speak to Mortality in the Hall of Heroes to upgrade to the new permanent versions. Give it a try!
  • Monsters will no longer occasionally say "THE OTHER IMPOSSIBLE CASE".
  • Quest Sleeping with the Fishes: it should be less possible to cause the quest to become unable to be completed when fighting the final Boss.
  • Quest Covered Culvert: Arcanist Kiton will now only speak to one adventurer at a time.
  • VIP Loyalty Rewards: The Cloud Mount should no longer think that it's a horse, and appear more correctly in the focus orb.
  • It should now be possible to claim the VIP Loyalty Rewards mounts on multiple game worlds.
  • Made further performance optimizations for how Monsters behave when they try to run away.
Known Issue:

The extra damage for long and short bows does not display in the weapon summary of the main inventory panel

When are you going to look at spell DPS in R10? With the epic strike nerf and the high reaper penalty, it makes DPS casters basically non-existent at cap.

We only have longbow and shortbow in DDO. That some bows are named composite bows mean nothing.
The reason I asked is because my damage indicator in the weapon slot of my Inventory still says 6.5 (1d8+3) + 86 on Lamannia.

My DEX is 82 which is a +36 damage mod. I was expecting to see an extra +18 to damage indicated (so, 6.5 (1d8+3) + 104).

I don't see that extra amount of damage indicated anywhere.

Looks like they added a known issue; which someone had to point out to me since I too totally thought things were bugged.

The precise shot ability score mod needs to apply to GXBs. I just leveled a mechanic GXB rogue with two inquisitives and my build idenity ended up being "I just do less damage, always." The Hunt's End changes ruined GXBs identity. They need something to allow them to hit hard again. Triple-hit abilities with repeaters do FAR more damage than a GXB. At this point, it might be a good time to question what you want the GXB identity to be.

Give melee a few more years to shine. DPS Casters have been top dog forever... It's about time Melee got their time in the limelight.
That's not true. And we casters have been in a sorry state for two years. That's too long. Besides, some caster classes have been in poor condition for much longer than that.

Please, can you include in this the VIP cosmetics and the cosmetics of the year of the dragon?

Other requests... a tab for paid permanent hirelings, please? And filters for the crafting bank, please. It's very difficult to find things there.

Would you please also add toggles to turn on/off seeing cosmetic wings, cosmetic pets etc from _others_?
Having to see umpteen colored wings and pets cluttering the screen preventing seeing the game I want to play is not always attractive.
So kindly add an option to simply turn off seeing the different kinds of cosmetics other player use.

What does this mean? Is it referring to the cosmetics you get with the reapers vendors or something else? Because if so, I finally don't have to worry about spending 1M uselessly on a cosmetic that I'll then have to buy again.

No, mortality is the hardcore vendor.

Appreciate the changes to organize the cosmetic feats and the upgrade to permanent status for the hardcore rewards!

Love these changes on paper, I'll look into trying them out tonight.

Any chance great crossbow can benefit from (some form of) this Precise Shot change? That's a ranged type that is really starting to fall by the way side in a world of RoF-is-king combat. Not to mention there's really only one enhancement tree that supports it...and it's almost one of the oldest "revamped" trees at this point. Definitely still a fun weapon, but it really could use some modernization.

There's no way to actually try/test this on lam as the VIP NPC isn't on lam (VIP buffs don't appear on lam either). It's good to know that it's part of the upcoming update, but if it's something you all want us to mess with to make sure any issues were fully fixed then there's no way to do so.

Slight problem on lam... can't do the quest. :eek: The NPC has gone POOF.
edit: NPC is turned on now. =)
