U75.7 Loot Preview

Tyran Thraxus

Mindless One
I'm sure these are not the finished products, yet:

1. At this level, all items should be at least Adamantine, Crystal, etc.
2. Zero creativity regarding item backstory or lore; loot used to mean something.
3. If these blank, boring items were rushed, maybe remove a bunch, and focus on the quality and creativity of fewer pieces of loot.

Damn I miss the old days. :sneaky:

Thx for pointing that out.
My added few cents on the artefacts:

  • The Band of Binding
    • Artifact Ring
      • New: Memory of Binding: On weapon hit, you have a chance of paralyzing your enemies. Struck enemies must make a DC 120 Fortitude save or be paralyzed.
      • Dolorous Slot
      • Miserable Slot
      • Woeful Slot
      • (usual list of chromatic and sun/moon slots)
DC 120 is not cutting it at level 36 or is the raid even higher in level?
I think a min of 140 is needed there.

Nice to see this on a ring!

  • The Mask of the Killer
    • Artifact Helm
      • New: Memory of Butchery: You have a lingering voice in your mind, reminding you of the weak points in every body. On an attack roll of 20 which is confirmed as a critical hit, the weapon severs an opponent's limb from its body. Some creatures, including many aberrations and all oozes, have no limbs. Others, such as golems and undead creatures, are not affected by the loss of their limbs. Most other creatures, however, have their movement slowed 75% and attacks slowed by 50% when a limb is cut off.
      • Dolorous Slot
      • Miserable Slot
      • Woeful Slot
      • (usual list of chromatic and sun/moon slots)

Does this work on bosses? If not we have stuf in game that slows mobs down on hit and on spells already, right?
  • The Harrowing Remains
    • Artifact Necklace
      • New: Memory of Shattered Life: Increases the wearer's caster level when casting ninth level or lower Sorcerer, Wizard, or Divine spells by two
      • Dolorous Slot
      • Miserable Slot
      • Woeful Slot
      • (usual list of chromatic and sun/moon slots)
Really, two levels... that's what you show up with and not even increasing max caster level at the same time?
At this point of the game it should be "You can use your character level instead of caster level to determine the CL and MCL, this includes epic and legendary levels... For any type of spell cast regardless of source."
But I guess we should count ourselves lucky if we get an increase of six to CL and MCL.
(2 really isn't cutting it btw.)

  • The Life for the Lifeless
    • Artifact Bracers
      • New: Memory of Animated Objects: +(Above 159) Equipment Bonus to Rust and Repair Spell Power. +(above 23) Enhancement Bonus to Rust and Repair Spell Crit Damage.
      • Dolorous Slot
      • Miserable Slot
      • Woeful Slot
      • (usual list of chromatic and sun/moon slots)
Should include Insightful and Quality types for both spellpower and spell crit chance.
It's tailored towards a neglected niche in the game, they deserve some extra love!
Bonuspoints if it has a clicky to summon a small pack of some sort of animated objects to fight for you!

Is this some kind of joke? Did I pay money for this? I have been playing since 2006 and never felt any need to post on the forums, but this is just too much even for me.

Are they seriously going to make an entire raid loot set that only gives crafting blanks? The quest loot was bad enough, but at least they had a token ability that made it almost look like someone put a tiiiiiiiny amount of uninspired work into them. Why not skip raid loot altogether and have players build the items at the crafting bench like the calamitous weapons? Ughhhh!

I'm already not too excited about questing in turn of the century Germany in a high FANTASY game, and add to that loot that is so boring it makes the Ludendorf city hall clock stop. I am shocked and chagrined!

At least the Dhampir race and iconic were the best thing to happen to DDO in a long time for me, but other than that I am so extremely disappointed.

I can't see myself pre-purchasing the next expansion, something that has always been a no brainer for me, if this is how it's going to be.

After 19 years, this expansion made me so disappointed and upset that I finally had to register on the forums. Sorry for the rant, but I had to say something. Gonna lie down and just breathe for a while now.

At least there is no new heavy repeater that makes me scream about skipping light repeaters. They just skipped both this time.

Those picks are on point. though I do wish picks were good and competitive I mean dwarves and gnomes get some bonuses for the picks but besides that not too sure. I guess the picks lean into the whole grave robber theme of this pack and are thematic . Which is cool and all but who is going to use them?

Perhaps if they added something special to the picks some sort of extra damage to make them special.

Perhaps I’m being too picky.

Once upon a time, the number of dice went up as the critrate went down for things that do something when on crit.
