Let the last tiers be expensive. Getting rid of the vast stores of remnants is a good thing.
Yes.Do we even know what the 2 missing items are for yet
- Dusts of Mythic Power (not available in Preview 1)
- Dusts of Reaper Power (not available in Preview 1)
To be clear, this won't do that... at least not in the long term. The players who have (I think I'm more firmly in the "have" vs the "have not" category.) might spend all their collection on rems on these boxes... or they might just as likely collect 7-8 boxes each month and call it "good". Leaving the rest for permanent tomes and other more desirable bonuses. Either way, after the event ends... the accumulation will continue.Let the last tiers be expensive. Ofcourse it will. People will spend the remnants. To be clear, this won't do that... at least not in the long term. Also... I'll bite... how is players having more or less remnants in their bank "good" or "bad"?
Lastly- whether it's good or bad is mostly irrelevant here. How it "feels" for most players matters more (or should for this type of thing anyway).
The line I highlighted above is exactly why many won't be spending all of their remnants on this event.Ofcourse it will. People will spend the remnants.
It is a good thing because it will be a light reset of the remnant hoards that allows for adding new, permanent, uses that are balanced around continous aquisiton rather than a decade of hoarding.
It will feel great.
We are getting a ton of stuff for low cost, it already feels great. I dont get the complaints on this one.The line I highlighted above is exactly why many won't be spending all of their remnants on this event.
Thank you for sharing your perspective. Here's hoping SSG will make this more of a feel good event for the players vs a "clear out your inventory" event.
what BtC rewards are in the box? I'm only seeing BTA stuff.Yes, you can choose between heroic and legendary versions.
The Fragmented Treasure of Myth Drannor is BtA, so you can move it to a character before selecting your BtC reward.
Can we get turn-ins for Siberys Dragonshards and Commendations of Valor too?Use this thread to learn about and give feedback on the new in-game event Sterling's Remnant Rush!
How it works:
For the whole year of the 20th Anniversary, an NPC will be available in-game that lets you trade Mysterious Remnants for a reward. The mimic Sterling the Strongbox has been brought to the Anniversary celebration by Fred to help gather up all the Mysterious Remnants that are still loose in the universes. When you speak with Sterling you may give Sterling 100 Mysterious Remnants, and in exchange, Sterling will find a reward from his collection to give you!
You may also take a risk to ask for another reward, but at a higher Remnant cost. Each time you ask for another reward, the cost will increase (to a limit of 10 possible times of Sterling giving you a reward with escalating costs each time). However, each month Sterling's Remnant cost will reset back to 100 Mysterious Remnants.
Sterling tracks how many times he's received Mysterious Remnants from you based on your account, but any of your characters may turn in Mysterious Remnants to him. He will only allow any account to trade a maximum of 10 times per month.
While Sterling's costs will reset monthly on the live game worlds, for our Lamannia preview Sterling's costs will reset during Lamannia Preview 2.
Here is a list of Sterling's possible rewards:
Minor Rewards (50%)
Major Rewards (50%):
- Suites of Curse Cards
- Full Decks of Curse Cards
KNOWN ISSUES:
- Fragmented Tomes
- Dusts of Mythic Power (not available in Preview 1)
- Dusts of Reaper Power (not available in Preview 1)
- Myth Drannor Treasure Picker Box
- Card of Curse Cleansing
Sterling is currently not able to deliver Dusts of Mythic Power nor Dusts of Reaper Power during this preview. This will be available in Lamannia Preview 2. Any time you would have received these as a reward from Sterling you'll instead get no result.
I am on the reincarnation wheel, don't play end game nor raids, spend remnants to get augments from Monster Hunter and have purchased from Monster Hunter the tomes available for my main and still I have a little over 120,000 rems in my shared bank. It is possible to accumulate large amounts of mysterious remnants as long as one is diligent about picking up/gathering any remnants that fall during questing. Not at all. I've got guildies with hundreds of thousands of remnants. Once you have the USP/MP/RP/PRR/MRR tomes, there's nothing to spend them on except long lasting stat potions. People have been asking for new ways to spend remnants for years.
I think thats cool and all, yet still think the prices for this slot machine are not good, newer and returning players, have nothing like this, and the price should be toned down to hit some kind of middle road, imo. I don't like the oops you spent all these rems and got nothing or basically nothing. Not a fan, but whatever I guess. Here you go. I have just shy of 750,000 remnants

and i've bought all the tomes, augments, eternal flasks, etc - kitted out 4 characters with the BTC stuff. This ^ is just left over. But when they drop, i pick them up...
Not only that but they can simply add in a currency if they want to start new and fresh for balance purposes. This event isn't giving me feel goods. Maybe its just me. I was hoping it wouldn't be some gacha-esque event. The line I highlighted above is exactly why many won't be spending all of their remnants on this event.

From what they've said, everyone will get something if you "play". The 'nothing' gaps pops out a reaper or mythic bonus effect which just didn't make it into the preview.I think thats cool and all, yet still think the prices for this slot machine are not good, newer and returning players, have nothing like this, and the price should be toned down to hit some kind of middle road, imo. It's the latter. You can make up to 10 trades with Sterling per month, he'll reset his count every month. Was not clear to me:
"You may also take a risk to ask for another reward, but at a higher Remnant cost. Each time you ask for another reward, the cost will increase (to a limit of 10 possible times of Sterling giving you a reward with escalating costs each time)."
"Sterling tracks how many times he's received Mysterious Remnants from you based on your account, but any of your characters may turn in Mysterious Remnants to him. He will only allow any account to trade a maximum of 10 times per month."
So you can get one trade per month, but 10 chances at what the trade will be?
Or you get 10 trades, and each time you can spend up to 10 times to get the trade you want (for a total of 100 possible spends)?
This is actually a very good question - Sterling is a very omniscient mimic who knows who you are across servers. The count and cost are preserved on your account, so if you use 4 attempts on Moonsea, yes, Cormyr will start at trade #5.Just to clarify it: I assume it's account, not server-based.
Will it be possible to participate on multiple servers? If so, will the cost be preserved across multiple worlds?
Example: I use 4 attempts on Moonsea. Will the cost at Cormyr start at 100 or 2500 remnants?
Been having some discussions on this, and I'm going to be doing the remnant gathering on a new account to see how it feels. The intent is to keep the lower end entries achievable while scaling up the higher end, so those who need to gain remnants can still get a number of things out of it while generally playing. From what they've said, everyone will get something if you "play". The 'nothing' gaps pops out a reaper or mythic bonus effect which just didn't make it into the preview.
But yes, i agree with you. It's expensive for new/returning players.
