Mycella V2 changes

1. Mycella now has freedom of movement instead of true sight to better combo with Rana

2. Mycella's durability in legendary has been significantly increased with hit points, healing amp and a decent armor class.

3. Mycella's custom blast spells are now on the player damage curves instead of the monsters (so they're like 3 times as good).

4. Mycella's spells costs have been reduced to something more appropriate (everything was like 40 sp before :p )

Solid changes.

Thanks for listening to my feedback on the spell change. I haven't checked but does the legendary version of Mycella happen to have freedom of movement, mass in place of the single target one? If not, can it?

On one of the hires, if you could reverse the order for the heal & FoM, that'd be nice. Just so they're the same order for both versions.

I sure wish scrolls were available for sale in game (plat, not shards/ddo points) as well for FOM :). If we have a full party with no FOM caster, well, we really can't use this hire ;). make it happen!

But also, this is very cool!

Good changes all around. I still think it's a bit odd to do Druid > Druid for the hirelings, but that is probably much too late to change now, so might as well make the hireling more useful and I think that's been done. The SP cost reduction and improved spell scaling is nice. I don't think that makes Mycella better than Rana (who will forever win because of being ranged and, therefore, not dying every quest) but given the level difference it's probably fine.

It looks like there were some changes to both heroic and legendary Mycella. I'm not going to go through every change from my post in the previous thread again, but I'll mention the new numbers here.

Heroic: 271 HP, 905 SP > 370 HP, 925 SP
Legendary: 2243 HP, 3270 SP > 3523 HP, 3304 SP
Looks like there's a +1 wisdom modifier difference between the two previews?

Spores now costs 10 SP in heroic and 8 SP in legendary (cost reduction rounding I assume)

Heroic runs through SP a lot slower, looks like whatever blast attack I mistook for Fire Seeds in the previous version (which might have been a custom version of Fire Seeds) no longer burns so much SP. With the spore change, it should be at least occasionally possible to skip shrines mid-quest. Still feels a bit anemic on damage but I will take the significant durability and resource management buffs since that does give Mycella a niche.

BTW, I've not tested this one, but my general concern is that it seems to be a melee hire and ALL melee hires are pointless.

A hire in melee range is pretty much instantly dead regardless of HP because it crawls under the feet of it's target, which causes it to be hit by attacks aimed at the player. Not only that, but unless it has a VERY fast default at-range attack (like Rana's bow shot), the default healing AI of "must attack before healing" will result in the hire's heals being too slow and/or a dead hire.

DPS from a hire is always meaningless, even with primal mantle. You'd need to scale it up by 100x to even begin to make it's DPS noticeable. I'm not advocating doing so! This is just to say don't worry about hire DPS. We're not expecting or hoping for that to be noticeable.

Please add the Hires AI options to its UI tab. While also adding a new AI option to control the distance the hire keep from its owner.

Agree, SSG needs to fix melee hirelings positioning and survivability (not only HP and AC but also way higher PRR and MRR) and hireling AI (abilities and spells higher priority than attacking), before melee hirelings become useful.

Until then, like so many other hirelings, Mycella only real use will be a parked bot. For rez/heal/ FOM.

And about hireling damamge:
It would be nice if hirelings could do damage too (like in most MMOs), since you could then also solo as lower dps spec more easily. Grouping would still be much better but you'd no longer be completely gimped when no one joins your LFM.

Nice V2. Mass FOM is great. First test spellpoints were a problem so I’m glad spellcost was adjusted. This is a compelling reason to purchase the ultimate bundle for sure whether you solo or not. Also absolutely adore the “bing bong” sound effect for the spores. Nice job guys 🖖

That is a big problem with hires. They will get in your grill and mess with your targeting. It would be good if they stayed out of your bubble.
I know right?! Hubby and I are always complaining about the Sharn construct hireling standing on top of us, getting in the way of levers and chests. Wish he would stand back at least five more paces.
