  • All active enhancement style tree abilities are reduced to only 1 rank (the most powerful version). This "fixes" the action bar bug where you’ll have an inferior version of the ability if you don’t redrag after increasing it's rank. We intend to no longer make ranked active abilities going forward.

  • For each active ability the AP cost is set to 1 on tier 1 abilities, and 2 for any other Tiers.

  • This includes enhancements, racial, universal and destiny trees.

  • Most Trees will free up somewhere between 2 - 8 AP. Enjoy!
Note - This pass is NOT done in preview 1 but is in progress and will appear in subsequent previews. Affected Trees...

Sorcerer Trees (but not wild mage)
Wizard Trees
Fighter Vanguard/Kensai
Deep Wood Stalker
Druid Trees (including blight caster)

Would you consider making Archmage Arcane Supremacy work like a normal action boost? Can have the same uptime, but it would be amazing if I could choose when to use it. Or adjust it to be more like a real action boost with charges. The current implementation is just so unforgiving half the time it procs near the end of a combat sequence, making it nearly useless.

Is this going to include action boosts and trances?

Not to look a gift horse in the mouth, but if I have to spend the points I've been saved on a bonus to listen just to unlock the next tier of enhancements then it's not much of a savings. This won't be an issue in some trees, but in others the passive enhancements are terrible. Maybe look at those, too.

Is that list of trees supposed to be exhaustive or just examples? Exalted Smite is not only 3 ranks, but 2 points PER rank in both Sacred Fist and Knight of the Chalice

Enhancement trees have not only level requirements to progress, but also AP cost requirements to progress, so will you be removing the restriction on action points spent to progress? If not, people could end up taking a lot of useless stuff just to meet requirements to progress up a tree.
They're unlikely to completely remove the ap requirements, but lowering them to something like (tier level *4 ) would be reasonable.

If I could ask for one thing, please move Divine Might in the Knight of the Chalice tree down to Tier 1. A better change would be to make it a level 1 Paladin spell that lasts by 6 seconds per level, keeping the same tier 3 scaling and call it a day. It was the very first trance back in the day, so it's more preferable to get something back.

This is going to be very very unpopular but can we nerf trances? like 1/4 ? or buff insightgfull hit and damage bonuses on items by A LOT? and also reduce AC of monsters at end game... its ridicuolous
I'd go even further, I think we should remove Trances from the game entirely. They're just a boring 2 minute button-press tax. And they're so strong that they're a mandatory part of any reasonable build, so they're a build tax, too. And you can snapshot them, so they're an item swap tax, too. And the best way to do that is through a sentient weapon, so they're a fully maxed out sentient weapon swap tax, too. Oh and don't forget to cast Tenser's Transformation and any other short term buffs and potions you have before your Trance, so there's another swap tax, too!

I hate that optimal play has become an exercise in tedium. Just remove trances and buff up Enh/Ins/Qua bonuses for hit and damage on gear to compensate. That way my desire to min-max isn't at odds with my desire to have playing my character be fun.

And still reduce enemy AC at end game on top of that. The formula for it is out-pacing our to-hit way too much.

Rant aside, I do like the changes in this thread.

I'm excited about this since it will free up about 12 AP on my current build. However, I also worry that this could be quite the sleeper buff to players, and that it'll fly under the radar with all the other changes. How will an extra load of AP for pretty much everyone affect difficulty? I don't have a suggestion and I like the change in principle, just wondering if this has been thought about.

Checked Blightcaster on Lammania, it seems indeed blightcaster enhancement tree is cheaper by this change like for 5-6 AP (same for SH tree), but tier 2 active ability multiselector lost option for Splinterbolt (just only option for Acid Arrow with splinterbolt icon). Please give us back this Splinterbolt.

Also it seems that Season's Herald SLA are now unrelated (no need to take produce flame if you want creeping cold SLA), could we get same for for Blightcaster SLAs?

Also Thorn Strike (both spell and Blightcaster SLA) seems to not procs master of Force piercing portion of dmg (splinterbolt trigger this portion correctly)

Isn't thorn strike piercing damage and not force damage? That master of stuff says it needs to proc'd by the appropriate damage types. But that's odd that splinterbolt triggers it given those conditions...
