Hey guys, with the addition of these nice Mastery caster feats and Intensify now pretty much becoming a must-have, casters will have a hard time on Epic/Legendary feats. This is especially true also due to Epic Spell Focus + Legendary Spell Focus now granting a huge +5 to DCs, which is too hard to bypass.

So came the idea:
How about switching the Spell Focus feats from Epic/Legendary line to the Destiny feat line? (I mean the ones you get at lvl 22, 25, 28, etc)
I would be more inclined to pair the Mastery Feats in with the Scions as autogrants.

i mean what if spell pen feat and spell focus feats scaled with character level and greater/epic versions where just removed from the game, up the crit chance and spell points from mental toughness to also scale with character level and remove improved/epic versions as well

Great, let me spend six feats on those for sonic, electric and cold as a Stormsinger.
sonic is rarely an immunity, and cold is a damage option from stormsinger by choice (-iceberg), can double down on sonic damage, and lightning damage is the main damage source from your lightning strike, so picking lightning byspass is the reasonable type you pick.(Along with chain lightning, thunderstroke and thundershout enhancement)

Why can't casters just have scaling beyond level 20 out of the box? I do not agree with "we'll get to other casters later". If you're going to gut casters finish the gutting so we understand what the final mess looks like and can plan out for the next several years to come accordingly... You all already brought low several caster builds already... prior to these changes...

Either the spell focus feats or change the Mastery Feats to the Destiny feat progression instead.
how bout putting them in enhancement trees instead. that's what they did with sorcerer and alchemist and it works just fine, but to lose a feat for it is retarded. They should just toss casters as a whole at this rate

I like u82 and the new mastery feats. Great job SSG :)

Note how spells with two elements like "Icy Flowers" or three elements like "Prismatic Strike" will potentially benefit 2x or 3x from the mastery feat boosting opportunity. I estimate adding one mastery feat to my build will add about 12% total dps output, ergo optimizing a build around a rotation of spells that all have 2 or more elements matched to a mastery feat may increase total dps with each tier i.e. each additional element
2 element spell = +24% total damage output
3 element spell = +36% total damage output

Perhaps there's a way to leverage this new feature ...
This only make sense if a lot of your spells that you are casting anyway happen to have two elements, and of the same type. Off the top of my head I would only do this on Ice Druid due to Ice Flowers being so spammable.

Every "master of" spell should be "on spell cast" not "on X element spell cast"; make it so you can only take 1 master of feat (anti-req: no master of feat already taken). So you can pick the element type you want to proc and all your spells, warlock blasts, SLAs will proc it.

This means if someone is playing a FvS where 1/2 the spells used are light and 1/2 the spells used are fire, they'll all trigger whichever master of you take, you won't have pay a feat tax taking Master of Light and Master of Fire just to try and compete with single element nukers.

The feat tax is having to take a feat at all for it.

You'd still have to spend 2 feats on the aoe lightning strip alone.
1 more if you want the single target cold strip
3 more if you want all 3 elemental mastery feats.
So, that's 6 feats spent right there.

That leaves little room for essentials like bogw/intensify/spell focus feats, let alone mental toughness.

Ok, that line up makes more sense how it's a problem. specifically for casters that do spell damage with different elements. like Wizards for one, Stormsinger like you mention. I would go the length and Cleric and FvS as well do 3+ different spells

Players easily have a kill ratio of 1000:1 yet you conplain that we do not get even more easy mode tools? If anything the monsters should be complaining that players are too strong
i mean i wouldn't mind having to deal with monster immunities if players could also get those same immunities, like they can in table top
