Mantle Procs work as they did, but with the new 150% Melee Power Scalar on Ki Bolt (instead of the former 300% Melee Power Scalar).

...
Then ki bolt builds still work (probably still strong), but it is less clear cut if it's woth sacricing SL9 spells for them. Which sounds reasonable.

Yeah, Ki Bolt builds are half as strong, but are still great single-target damage effects. A byproduct of this is that Sacred Fist is now in the running for Ki Mantles, and Monk Cauldron is no longer a lesser Ki spell to use for Mantle purposes.

Everyone is losing 6% critical chance as well.
That wasn't in any of the release notes. Tonquin said they were changing the tooltips to match the function that is actually being done.
We're fixing the mismatch between universal spell power/crit/crit damage and global spell power/crit/crit damage in set bonuses. All item set bonuses that say they grant bonuses to universal spell power/crit/crit damage will now instead say what they are actually doing, which is grant bonuses to each Spell power/crit/crit damage mod
This is saying that set bonuses that say they apply to universal have never been universal but provide a bonus to all spell types.

So is Scorching Ray eating a huge nerf too? or is Frost Lance is being made exclusively worse than its fire counterpart?

(1 level higher, 2 base damage lower per 2 CL, Fort save for half)
Frankly just leave it at 1d8+8; they get a save for half.
No cause fire has less single target stuff to work with at the moment, we're leaving scorching ray alone for now. Frost is a bit over tuned for single target compare to many damage types. If we have time we're hoping to boost some of the elements relative weakness compared to each other.

Please remove the extra caster levels from Dragonborn so they are not the mandatory caster race
Maybe look at removing a caster level or two from sorc so it's not automatically 20% better from all other casters
Otherwise fantastic changes. I am extremely excited.
Please dont walk back the fusilade and the dragon roar nerfs despite people crying.

It's intentional that force and light are 1d6+2 but not sonic, piercing, and alignment? (not questioning the decision, making sure I read it correctly and it's not a typo)

Seems to be what it is doing unless I am not understanding @rabidfox, who tested it out.

Fair enough there.

Incidentally I already found myself on the fence about using it (as a Wizard). Going from ~12.5 base per 2 CL per ray to ~7.5 means I am just going to eat the -2 Int to switch out of Winter.

They're all in the non-universal channel now; so we can't stack that 6% anymore.

Currently yes however...

Master of thorns was printed in error which I've removed from the main post, we actually bundled piercing into force mastery so it's 1d6+2, and master of thorns is being removed (it'll be a respec feat)

I likely won't have time to test this time around, has anyone tested this with eldritch blast?
Master of Force affects each eldritch blast. After you factor in the U82 crit chance and crit damage gear stacking nerfs, it's still a 56% damage improvement for single target damage. But keep in mind that pact damage is down 12% with the changes. Whether or not that's enough to make it DPS-relevant has yet to be tested on a kobold or mathed out.

I also don't understand this change. I would not reduce it by more than 10-20% damage since it has as fort save.
Your Evocation DC as a sorc will be in the 140s with Terror gear. Without changing Frost Lance's damage, Frost Lance would have done crazy damage with the Master of Cold feat for a third level spell.

I am fine with these changes although it feels nerfing aoe damage spells is a crude solution when the actual issue is too much helpless damage boosts that highly optimized players have.

I didn't even know the solar crit damage was stacking and didn't have the room to fit it in even if I did. It seems like the net change for me is

- 6% crit chance to blast and pact dice freeing up one sun augment slot
+2 blast dice from the epic pact dice feat
Master of force in place of the epic eld blast feat which now have the dice auto-granted
+ 3 pact dice by replacing redundant crit chance augment with +3 pact dice augment. I couldn't fit that in previously.
+ 30% more damage in R10 questing

This is definitely a damage increase overall and a significant increase in R10. And my DC is up significantly with the recent DC changes which has a positive, but difficult to measure impact on dps.

I am using dino set for the stacking crit chance and might be able to squeeze more dps by regearing without dino gear, but I'll probably just swap out the 6% solar augment slot for +3 pact dice and call it a day.

I likely won't have time to test this week, but I am hoping it works properly with a dark bargainer using evil for blast and pact. It sounds like it will, but warlock seems to encounter alot of issues where things should work in theory.

Regardless of what kind of damage your eldritch blast has been transformed into via enhancements, EB is only affected by the Master of Force feat.
