Given the number of changes, a good gesture would be to include a +20 Heart for each PC. You did this many years ago during a big revamp pass like this and would go a long way for folks that feel they need to re-do their characters because of these changes.

So, for those who managed to read through all that, what exactly got nerfed for casters this time ?

New 0 cost spammable spells (cantrips)
+30% more damage in R10
Master of ___ feats now add damage to all spells that do ___ damage types
Warlocks gain the effects of Epic Blast Dice for free, and Epic Pact Dice adds more damage (so more damage plus freed up an epic feat)

I only skimmed, so there are probably some nerfs as well (I think spell crit will go down slightly due to changing/fixing how some items/sets stack)

Lmao pdk instantly gutted after they finally fixed for cormyr after how many years of it being 1 minute instead of the proper 2 minutes and they announce an absolute gutting of the ability what a month later? Wonder how much $$$ they made off of hearts for people who needed an LR to drop the fighter level. Ssg just becoming more of a meme every update

AoE and crit chance nerfs seem pretty big to me

Nothing to help with needing far too many feats for dc and damage. Making mastery and intensify better only makes the problem worse.

I know the devs have good intentions with this, but this mass amount of simultaneous changes is somewhat terrifying given the history of similar endeavors. I hope you (the devs) haven't bitten off more than you can chew, but I suspect you have here.

There are so many changes hitting so many different angles that I suspect this will end poorly. Casters were left to wither on the vine for 2+ years when the MCL and Epic Strike changes were made and those changes were nowhere near as large a scope as this.

I wish you'd take a more measured, less "shotgun everything" approach to balance changes. Make smaller subsets of changes and give them time to settle and see how they play out in-game. Then use those results to better inform and fine tune the next set of changes.

My epic Sorc on Lammania had her elemental trees reset, but my wild mage did not. Also my ranger had Deepwoods Stalker reset.
You've made so many changes that I can't tell which ones triggered these. Can you list which trees are being reset and why?

I don't know how everything will pan out, but at the very least thank you for taking a crack at balancing and improving so many things in the game. A lot of these systems have needed it for a long time.

And my first impression is that most of the changes look pretty solid.

Nerfs for balance vs buffs for balance is interesting. Even if I have to work two to three times as hard as a ranged toon to do damage, is not ideal. Nerfing non-ranged seems interesting (in a bad way). Boss and purple-named have tons of HP to deal with....

Given the scope and scale of these changes across the board, I'm going to reserve judgement until after their cumulative impact can be assessed in game over time. As with any change there will be winners and losers.

For example it appears my shuri thrower will take quite a big DPS hit from the doubleshot nerfs, losing 165 when buffed, but that's probably fair enough on balance ('scuse pun!), given where it's at now. Maybe a bit overturned, we'll see.

THF looks to have gained some positives from the removal of Doublestrike cap and the change to Strikethrough, however it will alo be at more comparative disadvantage because of it's naturally restricted access to DR breaking and the other utility SWF and TWF have easier access to incorporate.

The unification of reaper damage penalties will help casters in high R content and that is appropriate too in current context it think.

R10 should be more difficult for most overall, and that's good IMO.

Overall I admire the boldness of the sweeping nature of these changes all hitting the deck at the same time. It certainly should shake up the meta, and that's no bad thing in my book.

Will be interesting and fun to figure my way through things.

As ever, I'm more than a little concerned about overshoot, likely both in terms of nerfs and of buffs, nevertheless it's a cautious well done from me. 👍

Here's another big one for Warlock: Mantle triggers for ALL warlock mantles. IIRC, most of the "new" (not base) warlock pacts are currently ignored by all the casting mantles.

The one I'm sure of myself is that only Fiend triggers EA:Wrath. They should probably all trigger it while typed as Light, but if the pact is going to be the single determiner then Abyss definitely should trigger it (but does not). IIRC, others with more invested in Warlock play have posted comprehensive bug lists on this -- direct review of the triggers and adjustment should catch them without needing to refer to the posts.

These are the pact ones that proc various ED mantles; they're hand rigged to do so:

While I appreciate the amount of work put in for this balance pass I really wish you wouldnt make so many changes at once - balance is going to be all over the place for ages.
